Cosmopolitan is an exceedingly odd magazine choice for Castle to be on the cover of, considering that there hasn't been a man on the cover of Cosmo in at least 10 years as of the airing of this episode.

Martha: If it's a hit who knows how long it could run -- and I could take it on the road.
Alexis: You mean you'd leave us?
Martha: Well, only for nine months of the year. (Alexis looks dejected) Oh, don't look so sad. (She glances over at Castle) And you, don't look so happy!

Castle: I'm going to go with... still with Prince Charming at the Ball.Should be looking for a pumpkin and some mice.

Beckett: We've gotta find out who she is and what she was doing here so late.

Castle: I can already see the blurb on my next book jacket: "It's Fashion Week in New York City. And the clothes are to die for..."

All references to the tale of Cinderella, a scullery maid who was dressed for the The Royal Ball by her Fairy Godmother, who dresses her appropriately and enchants a pumpkin into a carriage, and some mice into the horses and liverymen, and sends her to The Ball with the warning that the magic wears off at midnight. At the ball, she meets and intrigues Prince Charming. Losing track of the time, Cinderella is caught by surprise when the clock begins to strike twelve, and flees abruptly lest her being a scullery maid is revealed, leaving behind a shoe uniquely tailored to her foot, which is later used by Prince Charming to find Cinderella and recognize who she is.
