A famous psychic is murdered, and of course Castle is a true believer while Beckett is the doubting Thomas. As they dig deeper into the case, Castle's theories seem to be validated, but Beckett insists there is a logical explanation for everything.
The scene opens with a girl walking in the home of Vivien Marchand and she is calling her mom. She stops when she sees blood on the ground and calls her cell phone. She tracks the phone down and finds her mother’s body in the sofa bed. At Richard Castle’s house, Alexis and Richard gawk at Martha’s ring that Chip gave to her when he proposed to her. She says that she doesn’t know if he is the one that she wants to marry or not and Alexis says that she doesn’t have to marry him. Richard gets a call for another case. He arrives at Vivien’s home and says that he knew the victim and that he learned a lot from her being a medium and everything. Kate Beckett says that she doesn’t believe in any of the medium and psychic stuff and she meets with Vivien’s daughter, Penny. They talk about what type of enemies that Vivian might have had and Beckett tells her about the initials T.J. that were found in the calendar book. Penny doesn’t know what that means. At the station, a detective says that the Cassias family are there to identify the man coming out of Vivien's apartment.
