Almost Famous - Recap

The scene opens with a police officer responding to a domestic violence call and tells that he has a warrant for the person’s arrest. Suddenly the door opens and the officer is dragged inside. The next day, Martha and Alexis are yelling and Castle tells that he was dreaming of bikini girls until they woke him up. Alexis tells that she accidently let it slip that she was auditioning for “Grease”. He tells that she is not going to let up. Suddenly Castle gets a phone call, it is Beckett and they have a case. Castle arrives on scene and finds a police officer on site dead. However, upon close inspection, Beckett discovers that he is not a cop, but a stripper with a tequila filled pistol. They find the guy’s car and find a wallet inside. The victim was Derek Brookner. They find an address to where he was last at possibly.

They arrive at the residence and a hung-over woman answers the door. They think that Castle is another stripper and they tell that they are the real police officers. They are surprised to hear that the stripper that came over was killed and Beckett tells that everyone is going to the station. At the station, Ryan is trying to interview one of the girls whose face is always in the trash can while Castle and Beckett interview the other two girls. One of the girls tells that the bachelorette has a thing for cops. Castle mentions that he is a sort of a cop. Castle determines that the girls were taking pictures as well. They look at the pictures and they find out that Derek had a visitor come by that he knew. Camille Roberts is the girl that is in the picture that was talking to Derek and she has a record. They bring in Camille and Ryan tells that they found a business card for a Jesse Mandalay. Beckett tells that she didn’t get over the fact that her and Derek broke up and Camille tells that she couldn’t believe that Derek was stripping. She tells that Derek has another gig that he said he had to quit because it was going to kill him. They look at Derek’s acting ability and Beckett tells that Ryan and Esposito need to go to “Mucho Men” to find out more. Meanwhile, Lannie tells that she found blonde hair and it tested for testosterone and steroids.

Ryan and Esposito visit Mr. Saunders and he tells Ryan that he could use him for stripping but tells Esposito that he doesn’t need him. Esposito tells that they are from the NYPD and they tell that Derek is dead. Mr. Saunders tells that Derek did the rich people parties and bachelorette and tells that Derek worked at the Package Store, a male strip club. They look at the site and Beckett tells that there is only one way to find out if their long-haired guy. She calls for Castel and they go to the strip club. Meanwhile back at the office, Esposito starts doing reverse push ups and Ryan asks what he is doing. He is upset that Saunders didn’t want him in the stripping business. Back at the strip club, they are looking for Hans and Beckett tells that he is up next. Firemen enter the stage and Beckett tries to get Hans’ attention. It is not working so Castle sprays them with a fire extinguisher and gets Beckett in the back of the head with it too. In the dressing room, Hans has a thick German accent, however when they mention that Derek is dead, his Jersey accent comes out and he tells that he had nothing to do with it. He tells that they share costumes all the time. He asks if they asked his girlfriend and tells that Derek used to

Rebecca Dalton is the woman who has been sending the flowers and they tells that she is rich and Castle tells a plot of a scenario and Beckett tells him to go and thanks for the story and tells that they need to just ask Rebecca some questions. Castle asks how Alexis did and she is narrowed down for the part of Sandee and Martha is sporting her “Grease” outfit. Alexis tells that she is off to bed. Castle tells that Martha is great to Alexis. The next day, Castle and Beckett get to Rebecca’s and Michael Grant, Rebecca’s attorney, answers the door. She tells that they never hid things from each other and that Derek asked for $25,000 and that is what ended the relationship. She tells that she hired a Private Investigator. She has pictures and Beckett recognizes a man. After watching Derek’s acting video for “Most Dangerous Criminals” and the man in the picture is Michael Grimm. They discover that the woman that Derek met was setting him up for murder.

They visit the bike shop of Billy Grimm and she asks if he heard of Derek and he tells that he doesn’t. She threatens him that she will get everyone checking the VIN numbers and he tells that Derek came over with a donation of $25,000. Beckett tells that he extorted the money and shows the picture of Billy’s girlfriend and Derek. She tells that she told Derek to give a donation to get Billy off his back. Billy grabs her arm and looks like he is going to hit her, but he tells that it was the most romantic thing to do. They want to know how a struggling actor could come up with the money and Castle sees a withdrawal slip from a different bank. The bank sends over the surveillance and Beckett sees that it is not a different person. Jessie Mandelay is Derek Brookner. The account was from Sunfire Limited and the only person they can trace the money to is a fake person. They meet with a woman who has had business with Jessie Mandelay and they tell her that she was swindled and she is not too happy.

Beckett and Castle go to the developer and he tells that Jessie Mandelay tried to steal his property and they ask if anyone else called him and Beckett tells that she needs some brochures. Beckett and Castle tells that Derek’s partner is the one who killed Derek and Beckett gets a call and it is Esposito and the real owner of the bank account is Rebecca Dalton. They get ready to bust to crook and they go to Rebecca’s house. Beckett talks about failed businesses and they tell that Derek took $25,000 from the account and tells that her lawyer created a scam and funneled money to his offshore account. Michael tells that he is not saying another word. Later, Castle tells the end of the case to Martha and Alexis comes in and tells that she didn’t get the part. Martha springs into action and tells that it is the best thing to happen and rejection allows the actor to live. She runs off to buy ice-cream to ease the pain. She admits that she didn’t want the part and tells that she gave it up and the director offered the position of Stage Manager.
