Maybe I should have been more clear. I understand why it would make them more money. But why do people watch crap?

if i want to see the cavemen, id rather watch the ORIGINAL geico comercials, not these new ones with the one guy on the news panel or at the pysciatrist. the original caveman geico omercials were funny.

I think when it comes to TV, "crap" is very subjective.

I didn't see the premiere, but I'll be honest, I want to.

I was interested to see how bad it was and tuned in. It wasn't horrible, yet it wasn't that funny either. Watching cavemen playing a Wii was the funniest part IMO. But the sex jokes were lame. It was basically each caveman had a certain personality. One had a job selling furniture in a store, another was a bookish, lazy writer who couldn't concentrate and the other was dopey and slow witted and was obsessed in a former girlfriend who keeps dumping him. They knew they were different and wanted to keep their place...with an urge to break out and fit in.

Life is a tragedy for those who feel and a comedy for those who think.

As I said before, reality shows are much cheaper to produce. That gives them extra money for the higher budgeted series. Cops only has a few cameramen and production people whereas Heroes has cast, crew, locations, props and special effects to contend with.

But that doesn't make them right!

What you think is "crap" is someone else's gold. Since reality shows are so popular right now I think the public generally disagrees with you on reality shows being "crap."

No it doesn't. It's funny when you look back at the schedules from the 60-70's and see a bunch of classic shows each night listed. Now we have repeats of a show that premiered early in the week being shown again at the end of the week or a bunch of reality shows on. The networks must be saving a lot of money the past few seasons.

I know what you mean!

I have to bring this up at this point. Has anyone else noticed the concept of quality has changed? Think Gilligan's Island. Does anyone think this would fly on Network TV today as a new show?

No it wouldn't, unless it was done as TBS did and make it a reality show.
