Father Figure - Recap

The scene opens with Internal Affairs talking to Luke about what happened with Pablo Cordova’s arrest. Luke says that he has no clue about the arrests and dodges the many questions that the agent asks. Luke is told that he is going to have to take a polygraph test for this and he starts to show that he is nervous. Meanwhile, Daisy tells Jimmy congratulations for his proposing to Natalie. Jimmy tells her to keep it quiet and tells her that Annie doesn’t know about it yet. Later that evening, Jimmy goes over to Annie’s home and they have a few beers. Annie tells Jimmy that she is grateful that Jimmy took the measures that he did to catch Cordova and the fact that it saved her life too. Jimmy says that he would protect her from anything. Meanwhile in a different part of the world, an irate husband chases his wife and the wife screams that she knows what he did. The husband takes her head and smashes it through a glass table. A neighbor sees the man and asks what is going on. He hides the gun and Justin says that it is nothing and that Sofia, his wife, was watching a loud film. He turns around and he has a badge on.

Later in Laredo, Texas, Annie and the team find the car of the police officer and find traces of blood belonging to his wife. Annie says that it is Justin Tate, a former police officer, is the killer and Sofia was the victim. She wonders if this is just to throw her off and she finds evidence in the trunk of the car from an identity theft case. Meanwhile, Justin makes a fake ID with the name Ethan Sawyer. He signs on a dating site while there at the motel room. Back at headquarters, Luke finds that Ethan Sawyer died 10 years ago. He sees that someone just registered a car with the identity. Jimmy and Marco go see the car dealer and he gives the copy of Justin’s fake ID. The dealer tells the Marshalls that Justin wanted snow tires. Marco isn’t paying attention because he thinks that Luke is going to crack under the pressure of Internal Affairs. Meanwhile at a bar, Justin hears a single mom by the name of Sandra talking and goes over to her. He says that he has an 11-year-old daughter named Christine. Sandra beams and shows that she is interested in Justin. Back at headquarters, Jimmy and Marco go up to Bouf and look through Justin’s work computer. They find that he has been talking with a Heather Nichols. They rush to her home.

Annie and Daisy arrive there and talk about Internal Affairs looking into Luke. They too wonder if Luke is going to turn on his team. Annie talks to Heather about Justin. Heather says that she never knew that Justin was married and Christine talks to Daisy and Christine is upset. Daisy realizes that Justin was having an inappropriate relationship with her. However, Christine won’t talk about it. Daisy decided to put a trace on Christine’s phone and tells Heather to send Christine to a doctor. Meanwhile, Justin says with Sandra, but it is Zoe, Sandra’s daughter, that Justin is interested in. Justin starts to talk to her and Sandra is impressed. Sandra is at work and Justin talks to Zoe and teaches her how to cook. He says that he has Justin Bieber tickets too. Back at headquarters, Luke gets word that someone used Ethan Sawyer’s credit card. Annie creates a profile on a dating site and Annie says that she has a daughter named Beth at about the same age as Heather’s daughter Christine. As Jimmy and Annie finish the profile, Jimmy tells that he and Natalie are engaged. Annie says congratulations, but it is clear that she is upset by the news. Meanwhile at a motel, a police office spots Justin. However, Justin surprises the officer and points a gun on him.

Later the team arrives and finds the police officer shot dead and finds Zoe under the bed. However, Justin is gone. They see that the police officer’s patrol car is gone. Justin is in the patrol car and calls Christine. He tells her that she shouldn’t believe anyone. Christine believes him. At headquarters, Luke sees that Daisy is upset about something and decides that it is best to back up than approach the situation. However, when Daisy finds out that Christine has been kidnapped from school, she is very upset and runs out of the room. Luke goes with her to Christine’s school. The principal says that a man called them and told that he was Christine’s father and that there was a family emergency. He told them that he was going to send a friend. However, the driver wasn’t Justin, but and older black male. Daisy feels that Christine thinks that she is in love with Justin. The team finds that Christine landed in Chicago. In Chicago, Justin meets her at the airport and tells her that nothing is going to stand in their way.

Justin offers Christine to get a makeover and changes his appearance too. However, when Christine goes shopping for clothes, she sees her mother on the news begging for her return. She feels guilty and texts her mom that she is alright and that she will be home soon. Annie and the team go to Chicago to make sure that happens. Daisy and Annie arrive at the place where Christine and Justin are and find them in the street. Daisy manages to get Christine away from her saying that Justin is a dangerous person. Justin runs and Annie runs after him. However, he tells a police officer that Annie has a gun. The police officer stops Annie and tells her to drop the gun. She shows her badge and runs over to find that Justin stole a police officer motorcycle and takes off before Annie can get to him. Back at headquarters, Luke tells Internal Affairs that he is not going to take a polygraph test. Jimmy thanks him for keeping quiet and Luke snaps that he doesn’t want to be put into that position again.

Annie gets a call from Justin. He says that he is responding to the profile that Annie set up. Annie tries to talk and get a meeting with him, but Justin laughs at her. He tells that he knows that she is a U.S. Marshall and tells her that he wishes her luck with her investigation. The episode ends with Daisy driving up outside the home of her childhood music teacher. She sees him wave to a student and Daisy remembers when she was a student of hers. She takes a charm that was given to her and looks at the teacher with menacing eyes. She takes a sip from a bottle of whiskey.
