Chopped

Chopped

Passion and expertise rule the kitchen on the fast-paced new series, Chopped. Hosted by Ted Allen (Food Detectives), the series challenges four up-and-coming chefs to turn a selection of everyday ingredients into an extraordinary three-course meal. After each course, a contestant gets "chopped" until the last man or woman left standing claims victory.

Each week, a rotating panel of culinary elite judges including Alex Guarnaschelli, Aaron Sanchez, and Geoffrey Zakarian will decide whose dishes shine the brightest and award the winner $10,000. (Source: Food Network)

Next: 22x12 -- T.G.I. Fry-Day (Mar/10/2015)

It's fry-day in the Chopped Kitchen and the judges will be expecting deep-fried deliciousness on every plate. In the first round, the competitors work with hot dogs and taro root. During judging on the entree round, featuring cookies and cube steak, the judges must debate whether a repeated mistake should warrant one chef's elimination. And an ooey, gooey cake and salted caramel make for some sweet creations in the final round.

Prev: 22x11 -- Double Trouble (Mar/03/2015)

Eight chefs comprised of cooking duos have been invited to the Chopped Kitchen to compete in pairs. In the first round, the couples learn to navigate the space together as they make appetizers that include date vinegar and chili garlic coated peas. For the entree round, there is a lively sea critter in the basket as well as some sweet potato patties. And the two cooking couples who make it to the dessert round must come up with some fresh ideas for creme fraiche and port wine.

replenish food itemsRating: 1 likes, 0 dislikes

I enjoy watching chopped. I can feel the stress along with the chefs. It takes me away from my own issues. I believe though that you need to replenish the food used in each segment. The chefs should not be penalized for lack of ingredients. The chefs should be given a tour of what and where the food and the plates are kept in the kitchen. I thnk you should have shows wher you bring back the chefs who were the first to be chopped to give them a second chance. Read more

Chef dropping food and not choppedRating: 1 likes, 0 dislikes

I absolutely cannot believe that you didn't "chop" the goof that dropped the beef on the floor and after not even washing it off, cooked it and served it to the judges. I made note of the restaurants that the judges own or have affiliation with and made certain that I would NEVER eat in them. Read more
