Title: Nine and a Half Minutes
There are two sources for the title: The most obvious is a 2002 10-minute short film from the UK titled, oddly enough, "9 1/2 minutes" -- It's described as "A couple meet on a blind date and go from introduction, seduction, relationship, boredom, to break up - in 9 1/2 minutes." Strangely enough, it stars David Tennant, the tenth Doctor Who, who Stephen Moffat has since written award winning scripts for as Doctor Who (and which Moffat is scheduled to helm starting with the fifth season). Both titles devolve somewhat upon the steamy erotic film "9 1/2 Weeks", about an intensely sexual relationship which develops between a woman and a man and lasts for the titular time period before ending. The film is now considered a classic and has been both ripped off and spoofed considerably, becoming a Anglo-American cultural meme in the process. |
