The scene opens with an agent of the CIA giving a polygraph to Annie Walker. The questions get personal about a fling that she had in Sri Lanka with a guy that ended with him leaving her and he asks if this hurt her in any way. There is a flashback with Annie and a man on the island and they are falling in love. Annie buys two bracelets from an island boy on the beach and the boy tells that they will never be apart. She wakes up in the morning only to find a note that says, „It’s complicated”. The agent asks if she was to join the CIA, could she separate her personal life from business. She tells that she can. At Camp Peary, a CIA Training facility, a man is giving orders to those in a plane and tells that they are going to jump out of a airplane at low altitude. He asks who is going to go first. Annie Walker raises her hand and the commander is not surprised. Annie lands and soldiers tell that she has to go with them. She is told by her superior that she has to report to Langley, Virginia to put her language skills to the test. She has one month left of training but that doesn’t matter.

Annie arrives at Langley and meets Conrad and he tells that he will tell where to get her badge. She tries to follow Conrad but she is blocked by security. She has to get the pass key first and goes through the process to get the badge that she needs. Later in the office of director of clandestine services, Arthur Campell talks about how they have a leak in the CIA and at the same time, Annie is getting sworn in. Annie exits screening and meets Auggi Anderson, a blind CIA agent with technology that allows him to walk. He tells of the different rules that she is going to have to follow and Conrad meets Annie again and Auggi tells that Conrad works for Arthur and that he shows it ever chance he gets. They arrive at Joan Campbell’s office and Auggi stops and tells that she is on her own.
Annie Walker enters the DPD Operations Center. They are tailing Stas, a Russian assassin and tell that he is a spy that wants to give information to the CIA on a PDA. She is to portray a prostitute and get the information without any extra things on the side. Annie arrives at the Capital Grand Hotel, and sits in the lobby. Agents make their presence known slightly and a man from Spain attempts to talk to Annie. She tells that she is not interested in him and her pager buzzes telling that she needs to go to the fourth floor to meet Stas and get the information. Entering the room, she finds Stas with a pillow over his head and thinks that he is dead. Stas wakes up and tries to put his charm on. But Annie is too sly for that and tells him to get his PDA. As they start the Hot Sync of the devices and Stas is shot from a sniper. Annie hides and the sniper is still shooting. Another agent goes to rescue Annie and they clear her out before she is shot.
Back at headquarters, Arthur is talking to Joan and tells that the information channels clear. However, they argue over how the marriage counseling is going and Joan wants to know who Arthur is sleeping with. He tells that he is not having an affair. A woman walks in and tells Joan that there is a problem. Annie returns and her stockings are ripped but she is alive. Joan is not at all upset that Stas is dead and wants to know where the PDA is. Annie tells that it si at the hotel still. Joan is disappointed but Annie tells that she can get it back. She returns to the hotel in a sexy outfit and enters into the hotel room. FBI Agent Resobi stops her and tells that it is a closed crime scene. She tells that she was at the place when he got shot. She has another PDA to get info from the first. She plays her part well and gives a fake name and number to the agent. She tells that she only came back for her shoes after the sync is completed.
Back at the CIA headquarters, Annie gives Joan the PDA. She and Auggi decipher it and it is all useless information. They count it as a loss but good training for Annie. Later Auggi tells that the job is all about what she did and it can be hard sometimes. He offers to take her out for drinks to calm her nerves. When they arrive, Auggi is getting the attention of all the CIA agents and his ego is stroked a little. Auggi asks Annie why she joined the CIA. She tells that she was traveling and met someone and it ended badly. Joan is walking in a restaurant and finds Arthur meeting with a woman and calls him a liar about his affairs. He tells that the meeting is strictly business but she doesn’t believe him. She shows that she has phone records of their conversations and that he is calling too much for „business”. Back at the bar, Auggi, Conrad and Annie are drinking and guessing the deal with a girl that walks in with school books. Auggi says that she is beautiful despite that he can’t see. Conrad pins her as a college student studying law and Annie tells that she needs to go. Auggi has no ride home so he goes up to the college student and starts up a conversation.

As Annie is leaving, a black car follows her. She notices it and starts avoiding the car. She slams on her brakes and the roles reverse. She starts perusing the car and loses it halfway down. She arrives at her sisters where dinner is about to begin. Her sister Danielle tells that she set her up on a date and that Ethan is really looking forward meeting Annie. She is not so thrilled and it turns out that Ethan talks too much during dinner and they don’t hit it off. After dinner, Annie tells her sister not to worry about the botched date and that everything is fine. In the morning, Annie is woken up by a cat and she goes to the kitchen for breakfast. Danielle apologizes again and says, “I can’t believe Ethan tried to kiss you!” At the sound of the words, Annie gets a thought. She tells that she has to leave. Meanwhile, Arthur meets with a journalist, Ms. Hern, and tells that he wants her to cut back on the material that she gives in her column and she agrees. She tells that she is used to the charm that he tries to put on and that she wants her sources left alone and she will give less information.
Annie goes and talks to her Professor at a Georgetown University and asks what the word “Kistsu” means. He tells her not to get involved with the CIA and that her language skills can be used somewhere better. She tells that she is not working for them and finds out that Kitsu is Estonian for kitten. She arrives at work and is blocked in. She reports to Joan who tells that she was seen talking about the CIA to her professor. She tells that the real Stas is alive and that the guy she met was an imposter. Joan is upset that she talked about the CIA and tells that she is going back to the training camp for the CIA. Annie goes to the woman’s bathroom and slams the bathroom stall door. Auggi enters and tells that Joan doesn’t want her fired and that the agency loves people who take initiative. She has a plan.
At the Medical Examiner in Washington D.C, Annie waits for a nurse to come out and asks for him to take a picture of her and Auggi. Annie pulls out a thin strip of breath freshener and imprints the nurse’s thumb print with it. She uses it to access the fingerprint pad and it works. She is posing as a nurse and Auggi is the dead body. She arrives at the Morgue and finds out that the man that was shot wasn’t Stas at all. Suddenly FBI Agent Resobi and his team are there and he recognizes Annie from the crime scene. In interrogation, she sticks to her story as an escort and tells that the dead body turns Auggi on. Auggi corroborates her story and tells the same. Resobi gets a call telling to let Annie and Auggi free. He tells that Annie is CIA and she laughs and reminds him that she is allowed to leave. Meanwhile, NSA comes in and tells Joan that all evidence that they found on Arthur shows that all calls were professional and discrete with the woman at the restaurant.
Joan enters in and tells that Annie was right. They got the body from the Morgue and that it was not Stas. The records show Stas as deceased and the target is Petrov, a bestselling author. Stas is going to kill. At the Smithsonian, Stas poses as a waiter and puts the gun under a napkin. Joan and Annie arrive and Joan escorts Petrov out with no incident. She tells that Stas didn’t show up. Annie gets stopped by Ethan and apologizes for the night before. She tells that she is working and sees Stas. He is the same guy that came on to her at the hotel. She chases Stas through the kitchen and he is doing everything to get away. He runs to the subway and Annie loses him. He sneaks up behind her and chokes her. But Annie’s training pays off and manages to fight him and kick his gun away. But he gets the best of her and starts to suffocate her. She sees a blurry vision of a man with a gun coming toward her. It is the same man who she fell in love with in Sri Lanka. He shoots Stas and gets on the subway.

Annie receives the Intelligence Commendation Award and she will not be going back the training and that she is going to stay in the DPD and Annie tells that she knew the person who killed Stas. But Joan tells that Agent Baldwin killed Stas. She tells that awards stay in the vault at the CIA. Annie tells Auggi that working at the CIA is strange but interesting. Joan and Arthur meet in the hall and Arthur tells that Ben Mercer is back and they keep it low key to protect Annie and that they don’t want to move to quickly or they will loose Mercer. Back at her sister’s house, Annie takes out ice-cream and puts it to her head. She tells Danielle that it was a staple accident. She apologizes that Ethan was not her pick and Annie tells that everything is alright. In her bedroom, Annie is looking at the bracelet that she bought from the island boy to join her and Ben Mercer together. In a car, Mercer is looking at his bracelet too. He is parked right outside Annie’s sister’s home and drives away.
