The scene opens at Georgetown University in Washington D.C. Annie is playing soccer with a college friend Diego. Meanwhile over in Caracas, Venezuela, they are doing the same thing and a man is watching. He sees a man and goes up to him. He asks who is winning. Two other men come up and say that only the government wins. They run after him and try to kill him. He runs away from the men but he is chocked with a wire by someone in the backseat of his car. Back in Georgetown, Annie doesn’t win the soccer game and she tells that she let him win. He invites her for drinks and moves a little bit more playfully and she gets up. To get her to stay Diego tells that he will do anything. She speaks Spanish to him and she tells that she learned Spanish and there is a lot he doesn’t know about her. She tells that she needs a favor. She asks to get to his sister Julia. Victor Ponces meets Julia and has the same necklace of the man that was running. He gives it to her. Back in Georgetown, Annie tells that Victor Ponces is a bad government official that has been working with Julia and she is his mistress. She has been helping to steal money from Venezuelan oil and have been wiring it to an offshore account. Annie tells Diego that she needs his help to be contacted with Julia and that way she can protect them and give Diego the education under a new identity. She tells that if he doesn’t do it, and her sister gets caught, then Diego will be deported back home with no future chance to become a doctor. She gives him her card and leaves. Auggie sits next to Diego. Back in the office, Auggie tells Joan that Diego didn’t do anything and didn’t call anyone. Joan is upset that Auggie went out on the field with Annie and tells that he is needed indoors and not out. Joan asks about Annie’s cover ID for the Smithsonian. Annie will be going to Caracas, Venezuela and tells that Annie is only to hold her hand. Jon comes in and tells that their contact hasn’t replied to any messages yet.

Jon talks to Annie and tells that Diego has a crush on Annie. He tells that he touched her knee and Annie finds out that other agents were watching her meeting too. Diego calls and she tells that she is happy he called. At Annie’s sister’s home, Annie is watching the morning ritual and goes upstairs to pack for her trip and her sister tells that Annie needs to let the mystery man in the Caymans go. She tells that she is right and puts the bracelet in a box. Diego and Annie arrive in Caracas and Diego and Annie are blending in as boyfriend and girlfriend. A girl bumps into Annie and hands her a phone. It rings. Auggie is on the other end and tells that they are going to have to wait because the drop off agent has not called in. They play the waiting game while back in Langley, Joan and the rest are thinking to what to do since the contact is probably dead. They decide to allow Annie to take up the post. Annie and Diego go to see Julia at the bank. She is happy to see Diego and Annie introduces herself as his girlfriend that has business in Caracas for the Smithsonian. In the hallway, Julia yells at Annie that she is taking advantage of a 20 year old boy and Annie comes clean that she and Diego are not in a relationship and that she has to talk to Julia about Victor. They drive to Julia’s home and she is the “Mother of the Neighborhood” as Diego says. Inside her apartment, Annie tells that Victor is married and has many mistresses. She tells that Caracas is her home and Annie tells that she was an Army kid and she used to travel a lot. So she put all the pictures of her friends when she had to move and buried them in the ground as a way of letting go. She recommends that Julia do the same thing or she will be getting into trouble.
Auggie has been listening in and it has been 3 hours of trying to convince Julia and Annie tells her to prove her wrong that Victor is innocent. Annie calls Auggie and tells that the password changes. Auggie tells that it is a FAB that allows for the password to get to the person at the bank when they are close to the terminal. Auggie and Joan tell Annie to get the FAB. Annie tells that Julia has a FAB too and they are going to switch it out. They are going to go to lunch with Victor and afterward when Victor is sleeping, Julia is going to make the switch. Annie and Diego arrive at the café for lunch and Victor is amazed at what Annie is doing in Caracas and wants to accompany her to get the letter of a famous person. Annie sees that Julia has a necklace around her neck. It is the same one that Lopez, the drop off agent had. One of the agents recognizes it too and calls over to Langley. Joan tells that the Police found Lopez’s body in pieces. They are thinking of terminating the mission but Joan says that she doesn’t want to do it just yet. Back in Caracas, Victor is testing Annie of her job and tells that he wants to go with her. Annie and Julia go to the bathroom and she tells that the necklace belongs to an agent that Victor killed. She tells that their flight leaves in the afternoon and Julia tells that she is not going.

In front of the café, Victor gets Annie in the car and drives off quickly. He speeds through and he starts to talk about how Annie should be dating someone older than her. Victor slows down and tells Annie that it is her turn to drive and she tells that she can’t. He tells that she can. She starts to drive and grinds the gears to show that she can’t drive it but gets moving. Victor tells that she is not who she says she is and tells that her ID looks like it was made yesterday. He tells her to go faster. They come to a road block and Annie’s training kicks in and avoids it. Victor aims his gun at her and tells that she needs to get out of the car and wait for his associates to take her back to the hotel. She unbuckles Victor’s seat belt and spins the car. Victor shoots his gun and hits her in the shoulder. She opens his door and he falls out. Annie calls Auggie and tells that she is going to have to skip the meeting for the letter. She finds out that Julia and Diego are at the bank already. Annie arrives and tells that Victor is injured but alive. She tells that they need to go now. Diego runs to get the first aide kit. Julia and Annie go to the terminal and get access to Victor’s account. They get a code and they get into the bank. Victor and his men arrive and Annie and Julia go out the back entrance. One of the agents gets Annie and Julia and they escape. Auggie tells that Diego is with the cabby out front.
Back in Georgetown, Annie talks to Diego and he is questioning whether or not they did a good thing because Julia is having a hard time letting go. Auggie is there at the park and Annie tells that her shoulder is still sore but she will be alright. She reminds that Auggie shouldn’t be there. Auggie tells that Joan envies Annie and Auggie doesn’t believe the step forward information and tells that every step forward is a step back. Annie gets an idea and finds out that Julia is getting money from Victor still. In the hotel room, Diego and Julia arrive with Agent Hues and she grabs Hues’s phone. Back at Langley, Joan tells that Julia was getting money from Victor and using it to fund things in Caracas. Victor arrives in the United States and gets a text. It is Julia. Julia tells that she is going downstairs to get coffee and Hues tells that he will go with her, but she tells that she will go away. Annie arrives and Diego tells that Julia wasn’t at the coffee shop. Annie calls up Auggie and tells him to check the cab companies. There is a hit and they drive to the location where Julia is supposed to meet Victor.

Julia meets Victor and she tells that she knew that he’d forgive her. He tells that the flight is in an hour. Annie and Hues arrive and Hues goes into the place. Annie tells Diego not to get out of the car. He runs out. Julia hears Diego yelling for her. Victor tells that there is no going back. The man in the back attempts to choke her with a wire and Hues shoots the guy through the window and kills him. Victor drives and almost hits Diego. But he is stopped by Hues when he shoots him in the back of the head. Victor is dead and a distraught Julia cries. Annie finds the necklace and Julia tells that she would not bury it in a shoebox. Back at home, Annie takes out the bracelet from the mystery man and puts it back on her picture frame.
