The scene opens with Annie on the ground and two bodies dead. She wakes up with the fire sprinklers on and is in a daze. Police officers tell her to put the gun down and she is arrested and taken to FBI headquarters where Agent Rossabi is there and he tells that he knows Annie and that she is not dressed as a Call Girl this time. She tells tell that she is working for the Smithsonian and he laughs. He tells that they can play he said she said all day. He leaves and gets information that Annie’s lawyer has arrived and Rossabi tells that Annie hasn’t called anyone. Joan enters and tells that she needs to speak to her client. She enters the room and tells Annie to recall what happened. She tells that she doesn’t remember. Joan doesn’t believe her and tells that she needs to go back to when it all started.

The show flashbacks to two days earlier and Annie is sitting on an action. A man sits down and starts striking up a conversation with Annie. He tells that she can bid on everything besides the one that he is bidding on. Annie looks at her paper that she has and Lot 33 is circled with a notation of “Watch for this” written on it. The particular painting appears on the lot and the man who started chatting with Annie bids on it. The bidding goes between couple to couple and one man bids $10 Million for the painting. Annie tries to follow the man and asks Ms. Jaklin about the man who purchased the painting. She tells that she can’t release any information on the buyers. Back at Langley, Annie goes up to Auggie and asks what she does if she knows that a painting was sold for over the price that it is worth. He tells her that she needs to file a civilian observation and report it. Jai asks if they are still on their date. Annie tells that it is just a family barbeque and he tells that he will dress casually.
Jai and Annie are on a date with Danielle and her husband and Jai tells that he works for the State Department and that he has a number at work rather than a name. Danielle and Annie go off and she tells that he is the “George Clooney from wherever he is from”. Annie tells that Jai is 3rd generation Washington D.C. so he is legal. Danielle tells that he is a good catch for her. After dinner, Annie thanks Jai for the date and he tells that he knows how it feels to have to get over someone and that love is hard to quit on. She says good night. In her room, Annie is getting something putting her shoes away and turns around. Ben Mercer is there. She is shocked and Ben tells that leaving Annie was the hardest thing that he had to do. He tells that he was working for the agency and that they are using her to get to him. She tells that he disappeared for two years and he is not even saying sorry. He needs a favor. He tells that a man named Sedef Murad wants a painting for a weapons deal and Russ Hilburn wanted it too. The man from the auction was Russ Hilburn. He tells that she needs to go to Sophie Jaklin and tell that she is working with Ben. She asks how Sophie will know and he tells for Annie to call Sophie “Mona Lisa”.
At Langley, Annie looks up Ben’s file and it is Access Denied and Auggie walks by and tells that he knows that sound. He tells her not to do anything that is breaking the law. She tells that it was an incorrect password. She types in Sophie Jaklin. Another Access Denied. Auggie tells her to turn off her speakers. Back at the FBI headquarters, Annie lies and tells that Sophie got in contact with her and that she needed to see her alone. Annie goes to the auction house again and mentions Lots 19 and 75 from the 22nd of February. She asks for Annie’s credentials and tells the men to wait. She messes around and tells that she needs to show her “other” credentials. Sophie draws a gun and Annie tells that she was sent by Ben Mercer and she doesn’t believe her. Annie calls Sophie “Mona Lisa” and she believes her. Sophie tells that Ben was her contact at the agency and that she heard that Ben was dead and got herself in the deal with Murad and Hilburn. They go off and try to escape to the office at Langley but they are stopped by Turkish men. Sophie tells that she is going to be with them in a moment but the men see Sophie’s gun and draw their own. A security guard checks on them but is shot. Annie and Sophie escape inside the warehouse.
Inside the warehouse, Annie and Sophie are hiding and they take off their shoes to muffle their steps. The men search for them and Annie tells Sophie to get to the exit. Annie sees the men and pushes a shelf on one of the men causing a fire when the shelf hits the junction box is hit. This causes the fire sprinklers to go on. She gets close to the exit and the other man draws his gun, but he is shot by Sophie. Suddenly the other man grabs Annie in a headlock and Annie fights him, but she is hit unconscious and the man goes after Sophie. They shoot each other at the same time. That is the time when the sprinklers are going and Annie wakes up and is arrested. Back at the FBI office, Joan asks how Annie knew that Sophie needed help. Joan tells that Sophie knew who Annie was and Rossabi enters with a file. Joan tells that the two men who got killed were Turkish nationals and that is why she is in Federal custody and not State.

Back at Langley, Jay and Auggie are trying to track Annie’s searches and they are having a hard time. Auggie tells that it is not like Annie to work off the books. Back at the FBI office, Joan wants to know more about how Sophie called to tell that the buyer was buying more than a painting. She knows that Annie is lying and Annie tells that is was schematics for a Russian missile. She tells that Sophie was an asset for the CIA for six years and wonders why she didn’t contact her old handler. Joan asks if Sophie mentioned her old handler. Annie lies and says that she didn’t. Meanwhile, Jai goes to Danielle’s home and breaks in after Danielle leaves. He goes through Annie’s belongings and tells Auggie that she doesn’t have anything. Auggie asks if Ben Mercer brings up anything and Jai lies and tells that he doesn’t know him. Jai sees pictures of Annie and Ben and tells that she picked the wrong guy. Jai tells that he needs to call someone.
Joan asks what Annie was searching for on the database and Annie lies again that she was looking at Art archives. She doesn’t believe anything and tells that the FBI think that she works for the Smithsonian and unless Annie tells everything that she knows and the truth. Joan asks about Ben Mercer. Meanwhile, Jai is watching the security footage and they see Annie and Sophie walking and the guard tells that Sophie knew something was wrong because she drew her gun on Annie. Joan tells that Ben Mercer is vital because he is up to his eyeballs. Annie asks if that is the reason they recruited her. Joan asks if Annie has seen Ben and she tells that she has. Joan meets with Jay and he tells that she is protecting Ben. Rossabi enters and tells that he has bodies to account for. Joan walks into Annie and tells that she better tell everything or she will hang Annie out to dry.
The next scene shows Joan and Annie walking into Langley and Auggie asks if Annie is going to be forgiven and Jai tells that Auggie can see that as much as him. Joan tells that Ben was a CIA operative that turned Sophie six years ago. Annie tells that she already knew that and she is upset that Joan is not telling her anything. But Joan tells that Annie could be charged with Treason. Annie asks if she is using Annie to get to Ben. She tells that they recruit people for many reasons. Annie asks where she stands in the agency. Annie walks into Auggie’s office and he tells that he told her to avoid felonies. He tells Annie that he likes her and that is why he covered for her. She tells that she has to report to FBI Agent Rasobi and that they are going to work on the case together. She tells that she has been thinking of Sophie and she asks if it gets easier and Auggie tells that when it happens, then she is going to have to worry about herself.
Rossabi and Annie enter the auction house and enter the crime scene and Rossabi asks if she is qualified to be an Art’s dealer. They enter and Rossabi tells that they tore the place up. Annie tells that Sophie was in her care and she blew it. Rossabi tells her not to stress over it because it is not going to help. He bumps into a rich statue and tells that it is 20 years of his salary and they both agree that it was teetering. They do up to the painting that Hilburn was bidding on, but it’s gone. At the same moment the security guard sees that a man is carrying the painting and goes to investigate. Annie and Rossabi exit the warehouse and find the guard shot dead. Annie goes back and says that the theft of the painting is not her fault because she followed everything that Joan said, but Joan tells Annie to go home and stay home for the rest of the night.

Annie gets home and looks at the matchbook. She opens it and it is a location and time of a meeting. She goes to the location and sees a boat. She gets in and sees a man standing in the kitchen of the boat. It is not Ben, but Hilburn. He has the painting tore apart and has the plans out. He tells his men to dump her body out in the waters. They escort Annie and are about to kill her. She reminds that they have to take her out further and they tell that they can kill her now and then dump her body out in the water. Annie fights off and runs away. She jumps from boat to boat and at the last boat she almost misses it and the man following her falls in the water. Annie drops the Anchor on him. She falls in the water and swims to the docks. The other man is there with the gun. Jai is there too and arrests the man. Annie is at the office and Joan walks into Arthur’s office and tells that Ben Mercer was using Annie as bait anymore. He tells that it is not her call and that Annie is in on it no matter what.
