The scene opens with Auggie briefing Annie what she is supposed to do on her next mission. She is simply supposed to transfer spies and come back home. On the way to their exchange, Annie hears Carlo, a prisoner of the FBI, complain on how the CIA and the FBI are treating him unfairly. She shows him that she can speak Italian as well and he asks what they are doing. Thinking that Carlo is a spy, she laughs at the cover of a journalist that he is portraying. They arrive in Argentina to make the exchange. However, their contact is not there. Annie gets on the phone with Auggie. He tells her that the other plan got held up from weather problems. He tells that she needs to hang tight. Carlo runs away from Annie. When she catches him, she handcuffs her and him together. They head back to the plane when they see a man shoot the pilot. They run off as they get shot at run out into the desert. Annie talks to Carlo and tells that they are going to be alright.

At Langley, Joan is trying to calm down the commissioner of Buenos Aires and the D.C. Italian Embassy and they are not happy with what has gone on. Buenos Aires tells that he is going to arrest Annie and Carlo as foreign spies. Joan tells Auggie that he is to go see Arthur in his office. Back in Argentina, Annie tries to keep Carlo moving and he tells that it is no use. He says that he has friends by the beach, but Annie tells that they are following protocol. Carlo tells that her agency is in with the people who are trying to kill him. She tells that is not true and that she is going to get him back to safety. He tries to leave, but she tells that it will all be over soon. Back at Langley, Auggie meets with Arthur and he is told that Auggie is to be the new head of the Organization of Congressional Affairs (OCA). Auggie says that if he takes the job, he can’t be out in the field again and will be in front of the cameras. Arthur tells Auggie that he is the right man for the job and tells that he will start next week if he takes the job. Auggie goes out in the hallway and thinks about the offer. Jai tells that Carlo was arrested in Washington for going through the trash outside the FBI offices. He told the FBI that he was researching a story. Joan sees Auggie come in and Jai tells that Carlo is on a watch list. Joan asks Auggie if it was a good meeting and tells that they need to know if they can get a rescue or not.
Back in Argentina, Carlo and Annie come up on some farmers and Carlo tells that she is going to steal the car of a poor peasant. However, Annie tells that she is going to buy it. They drive off with Carlo handcuffed to the truck. In Langley, Auggie finds the airplane that holds the other contact and find that passenger and crew are on board. Helmet Drum is the assassin and he is on Annie’s trail. Annie and Carlo drive and their truck breaks down. Annie gets out of the truck and Carlo tells that this wouldn’t have happened if he was driving. She works on the truck and asks Carlo who would want to kill him. She tells that if she can find him a Macchiato, will he give up who is trying to kill him. He says that it might. They arrive at a side of the road café and Carlo tells that he can check his blog. Annie laughs and says that it is a nice cover and tells that they would have them if he did log in on the blog. She tells that if the Buenos Aires police get to them, they are going to be in big trouble. They go inside and Annie manages to give him a Macchiato and some food. She sits down and Carlo tells that she likes him and he says that his type always has that affect. She smiles and says that he is either the best or worst operative she has ever seen. He says that people trust him unlike her job. She tells that it is time to go and Carlo asks to go to the bathroom. He tries to sneak out the window and Annie is there. She and him drive off down the road.
While on the road, they come to a police road block. They stop and are shot at by Helmet Drum, the assassin. Annie drives past the barricade and escapes the police and assassin. Back in Washington, Joan meets with the Italian Embassy and tells that she is confused. He tells that they are in this together and says that he needs a few hours and says that it is going to all work out. She agrees with him and smiles. Joan realizes that the Italian Embassy is dirty and says that they are going to have to move in on it. Jai tells Joan that Annie busted through a police barricade and now has a country-wide search on her. Joan says that they need to get an extraction team together. Annie and Carlo have their transportation break down finally and Annie tells Carlo to take off his clothes. He says that she wants to see how the assassin knew where they were. She finds a GPS tracker on his belt. She squashes it and tells that they are going on foot now. He tells that he doesn’t like it and Carlo says that Annie is a lost cause for boyfriends and Annie says that she just wants to know who is trying to kill them. He says that the OCU, the Italian Oil company is probably after them.

They get to Buenos Aires and Carlo tells that he is a writer and that he was going to publish how the Italians are taking cutbacks and other things. Annie tells that they have to get him to a safe house. Joan calls Annie and asks where she is. When Annie tells her that they are in the city, she tells them that they are not safe because the Argentina police are looking for her. Auggie tells them to get to the US President’s port at the wharf. Jai tells that two resources of Carlo are dead and both worked for the OCU. Annie tells Carlo this and he tells that he needs to get away from Annie. A police officer comes up and asks why they are handcuffed together. Annie tells that her boyfriend is into kinky things. However, he tells the officer that he wants Annie away from him and he leaves after Annie takes the handcuffs off. Annie throws down the police officer, but it is too late, Carlo is gone. Meanwhile, Carlo enters La Republica, a newspaper and hides away. Annie manages to find him and he asks how she knew he would go there. She tells that is what a writer would do. He tells her that he needs to get his story out. She tells him to hurry.
As Carlo talks to the editor, Annie is on the lookout. Carlo tells that the newspaper is on the same story and that they are going to print his part. Back at Langley, Auggie talks to Arthur and tells that he is getting the job because Arthur is in danger of his own job. However, Arthur tells that he still has more. Auggie asks if he called for an extraction in a foreign country, what they would say. He says that he thought Auggie was going to ask for a wet bar. In Argentina, Annie and Carlo go to the Wharf. Joan talks to the commissioner of Buenos Aires and tells him about the operatives. He tells that he is bringing Annie in and Joan tells that sometime and somewhere they will have future business and if they harm one of her operatives, it will have a bad impact. Annie and Carlo get to the Wharf and see the assassin there. Annie grabs a wrench and manages to get the assassin down by chocking him with the handcuffs. A helicopter comes and Annie tells that is their ride, but the Buenos Aires police arrive too and aim their guns at them. The commissioner comes out and screams that it ends. He aims at Annie and Carlo, but he shoots the assassin instead. He tells Annie and Carlo to get out of there.

Later at Langley, Jai tells Auggie that Arthur must have offered him the job and tells that Auggie is Arthur’s boy now. In a hanger, Carlo tells that he is going back to Italy and publishing the story. He tells Annie to come to Italy with him and tells that his mother will cook good for her. She smiles and tells him that it will be another time. She gets into America and finds the article that Carlo wrote. She checks her messages and one is from Auggie. He welcomes her back and tells that he and her need to talk about something. The episode ends.
