<-- Previous EpisodeNext Episode -->
The episode begins with Annie preparing cup cakes for the Fourth of July; but unfortunately Danielle tells her that they don’t taste that good. Annie is working and she wanted to take the cup cakes to work. But Danielle already has made cup cakes and gives them to her. She is the best! When Annie reaches office, she finds a note on her desk which reads: Vesta Diner at 10. Come alone. She is at the diner and Jai walks in. He has an opportunity for Annie and it is a big one. It has something to do with Langley. He appears a little worried. He asks her to go with him so that she can see it for herself. She agrees. They get up and leave, but the waitress tells Annie that she forgot to take her umbrella with her. Annie goes to pick it up and just then Jai’s car blows up.

Annie falls to the ground, and moments after when she gets up, her forehead is bleeding and Jai’s car is in flames. At the office, Arthur and Auggie are discussing about the explosion. Arthur tells Auggie that Jai’s office was special projects and now he has to take it up-. Arthur wants Auggie to find out what got Jai killed. Annie dresses her wound and arrives at the office. Joan tells her that she has been re-assigned. Annie feels that the department has re-assigned as they think that she had something to do with this. Joan assures her that this is routine. Annie is being interrogated. Just then Linda Smith walks in and ends the interrogation; the polygraph is over. They go for a drink. Smith tells her that she was being underutilized at the DPD. Smith tells her that Annie will be taking risks on the field and she will be treated as an equal.

She gives Annie her task; a high security clearance on a person of interest, Simon Fisher. Annie seems happy. She returns Danielle her umbrella. The next day, Annie is sparing with Auggie and she asks about Linda Smith. Auggie tells her that Smith is a highly efficient operative; the youngest in her time who made it big. Annie is nervous. Auggie tells her that whatever happened to Jai wasn’t her fault. Annie meets Joan in the elevator and she knows Linda Smith. Joan tells Annie to trust her instincts as they have got her this far. Annie enters her new office. When she inquires about her desk, Smith tells her that there are no desks for operatives and that they come into the office very rarely. Smith asks Annie what she found out about Simon Fisher, and Annie gives her all the info she gathered.

His mother was a spy with KGB and espionage is in his blood. His kill patterns suggest that he was trained in Russia. He is extremely dangerous. Annie also adds that he has purchased a lot of land in Africa and has tried to hide those transactions. It appears that Russia has being buying land in a lot of poor countries. New money and no morals; it is a huge concern. Annie suggests that she wants to meet Simon and Smith thought the same. Annie arrives at Morocco. She keeps an eye on Simon. She deliberately has Simon’s car run into her rental car. She acts pissed. Simon takes her to a place where she could get something to drink and relax. Annie learns that he speaks German very well. Simon suggests that they should see each other’s passports. He points out that a Smithsonian employee doesn’t get a diplomat passport.

They discuss the places they have been to. Annie wants to go to the Orka Valley and Simon agrees t take her there. He tells her to meet him at 3. Meanwhile, Joan is pissed that Auggie was moved from her department with she being informed. Arthur tells her that he doesn’t require her permission to make operative changes. As a husband he tells her that she can handle this and as her boss, his decision is final. Annie calls Smith to inform her about the events that occurred since her arrival and she also feels that the German tourists approaching them seemed more like some protocol. Annie asks for a sweep drive and Smith agrees. She texts Annie the details of the guy she could get it from. Annie goes to the market and meets the guy.

She collects the drive and leaves. The German tourists are in the market and they follow Annie. They draw their guns. Annie realizes that she is being followed and runs. She manages to escape. Just then she receives a call from Auggie. He wants to know what is going on. He figures that something is wrong but Annie tells him that everything is fine and that she cannot talk at the moment. She then calls Smith and tells her that the German tourists had guns and they moved like professionals. Smith asks her as to what she feels. Annie tells her that she can make it work. She disconnects the call and turns around; only to find Simon standing right behind her. He apologizes for being late. He has got her flowers. They get into his car.

She sees a gun in his glove compartment. At the office, Auggie is still trying to adjust in his new office and his new colleagues. He tells Joan that jai is a complicated guy and now he is sitting on his desk. He wants to get into this thing with his eyes open. Instead of driving Annie to the Orka Valley, Simon takes her to a new place. He asks her if she trusts him. He takes her to a beautiful spot. She tells him that she feels alive in this place. He tells her that he owns the place; 40,000 acres of land. But he intends to do nothing with it. It is going to be a preserve. After a brief chitchat, she tells him that she would like to go to the car and get a bottle of water. On reaching the car, she checks for the gun in the glove compartment; it is gone. She pulls out the sweep drive and activates it and puts it in the backseat.

Just then he arrives and tells her that they should leave as there is a sandstorm. The sandstorm soon engulfs their car. Annie wraps a scarf around her head and asks Simon for his scarf. She then tears it into two and gets out. She stuffs them into the exhaust pipes. Simon finds her clever. He dusts the dirt and sand over her body and kisses her. They drive back to his hotel. She is surprised that a venture capitalist is interested in museum work. He opens his safe and puts his laptop inside. Annie makes a note of his code. He goes to take a shower. She turns on the television and then rushes to the safe. But just then she sees the passports of the German tourists. She finds something odd.

Just then Simon comes out the shower, wrapped in a towel. She unties her dress and joins him in the shower. As they make out in the bathroom, we hear the news broadcast wherein two German tourists are found dead. Auggie hears the news and tells his colleagues to look into the murders. He feels there is something wrong with it. His colleague brings him all the files he had asked for. One of the boxes has a symbol on it; the same symbol that is tattooed on Simon’s back. The episode ends.
