Episode Notes
The classification of 'wet drownings' means victims were alive when submerged, they could feel their lungs filling up with water and it's an extremely painful way to die.
A spree killer usually goes through two phases: guided and random.
Guided means the killer stays in a particular geographical area or comfort zone until he breaks down. In this phase, there is usually a final destination in mind.
In the random phase, the kills seem to be without design and less time between them. At this point, the killer has lost control.
Episode Quotes
Elle: What?
Morgan: We've only been here an hour, you've made two calls.
Elle: And?
Morgan: You hate the phone, Elle.
Elle: I don't hate the phone.
Reid: Actually, you do.
Morgan: Why you acting so weird?
Elle: We're sitting with a guy who knows that there are eight hundred kernels of corn on the average cob...
Reid: (chiming in) Arranged in sixteen separate rows.
Elle: ...and you're callin' me weird?!
Morgan: You're gettin' some lovin', aren't ya? You got a boyfriend.
Elle: You are basing this on what exactly? The fact that I don't like the phone, that's all you got? That's your best? You've been a profiler for how long, Derek, and that? That's weak. That's weak.
Morgan: "Nothing" - see you just denied it!
JJ: (on whether Elle has a boyfriend or not) Ah, do you?
Elle: It's more fun not to answer that question.
Morgan: That right there is a "yes", baby! I knew it! I told ya!
Morgan: A serial killer who's been sussed out and is on the loose, he's got two choices. He's either hiding or worse, he's on the run.
Gideon: The French philosopher Voltaire wrote: "There are some that only employ words for the purpose of disguising their thoughts."
Hotch: (answering his cellphone) Hotchner.
Garcia: Who is your daddy?
Hotch: I'm sorry?
Elle: You really don't know someone until you take a road trip with them.
Morgan: What you trying to say?
Elle: Look at this car, man. There's empty soda cans and fast food wrappers everywhere. You're a slob! You know back at Quantico your desk is all neat but I bet if you looked in those drawers you'd find a mess.
Morgan: (with a mouthful of fries) Okay, we have been on the road way too long.
(cellphone rings)
Morgan: Aww, that must be the boyfriend.
Elle: Yes, it is. Hey, Gideon.
Hotch: (answering his cellphone) Hotchner.
Garcia: Who's the answer to all your dreams?
Hotch: I'm gonna put you on speaker.
Garcia: Ohhh, you completely suck!
Garcia: Aaron, do you have any idea how many people drown every day?
Hotch: Well, yeah. There are more in the summer for obvious reasons but I think it averages about 6500 a year which is... 17 a day?
Garcia: (impressed) Is this Reid?!
Hotch: Why? You impressed?
Garcia: I am, Slick. I am.
Gideon: The author Francois De La Rochefoucauld wrote: "We are so accustomed to disguise ourselves to others that in the end we become disguised to ourselves."
