Everything was going good for John Hawkins: a good job as an assistant district attorney in New York, good lifestyle, and he is even up for a promotion. But things instantly change when John gets a call from the Seattle district attorney informing him that his 16 year-old son, Dylan, is in trouble and will be in more trouble unless John finally takes responsibility for his son.
In Seattle, John agrees to take in Dylan, which proves rocky at first. In order to bond as father and son, John decides to take Dylan on a motorcycle trip, hoping that the open road will help the two to form a relationship.
