Coroner Dominic Da Vinci opens hostility from his ex-wife/pathologist, her new lover/Chief Corner, and detective Leo Shannon when he wants to look back on old cases involving prostitutes who suffered alcohol poisoning that he now suspects maybe the acts of a serial killer.

Meanwhile, new Homicide detective Mick Leary investigates the death of an infant's death due to heroin overdose.

The morals and ethics of euthanasia is debated when a reporter releases a witness account of a mercy killing, prompting an inquest to find the reporter's source. The issue touches upon Dominic's personal life as his father has suffered a recent stroke.

11 :01x11 - Final Chapter (Jan/13/1999)
Patricia assembles information on Charlie Josephs for a conference she has been asked to speak at. During this, she begins to look at evidence surrounding his murder, which causes problems for Leo who's already under pressure to wrap up the case.

At the same time, the narc's body is found in a freezer in Danny's night club, which sheds the truth to Kosmo.

Meanwhile, Dominic lets Morris handle a case of a male prostitute found dead by the Spanish banks.
