Season 8 begins with 500 candidates trying out for the 2013-14 squad. Their number is quickly reduced to 139 and then down to 54 ladies who are invited to compete against veteran Cowboys cheerleaders.
The 54 new candidates undergo panel interviews and learn dance routines as they compete against 32 returning veterans.
