Season 12, Episode 15 - Recap

With Kendra and Louis out of the competition, Kirstie Alley & Maksim, Chelsea Kane & Mark, Ralph Macchio & Karina, Romeo & Chelsie, and Hines Ward & Kym are up to dance this week they are going to have to do an Individual Dance and an Instant Dance. The stars get ready to dance and start the show.

First up for their Individual Dance are Chelsea & Mark. They get into the rehearsal room and Chelsea says that dancing should be fun and Mark says that he wants to be romantic this time and show that Chelsea is good. Dancing the Waltz, they come out and they are amazing! They go to the judges and Len says that he thought that they put too much on the story and not the dance, but it was great posture and overall he liked it. Bruno says that Chelsea shined like a jewel and says that it was fab-u-lous. Carrie Ann says that tonight she brought out a whole new added dimension. They get their scores: Carrie Ann with a 10, Len with a 9 and Bruno with a 10. Total score of 29/30. The best score of the season! The instant dance that they are going to be dancing with is the Salsa to “Get Busy” by Sean Paul.

Next up is Hines & Kym for their Individual Dance. They get into the rehearsal room and they are going to tell the story of a proposal and he wants to analyze Ralph to get that expression and Kym points out that Ralph is happy when he dances. Dancing the Foxtrot, they come out and are amazing with their presentation. They go to the judges and Bruno says that it was beaming with happiness and it was great. Carrie Ann says that he is such a guy’s guy and it was great and she says that she loved it. Len says that his dancing has great appeal and it was a joyful experience. He says that his feet were a bit off, but loved it. They get their scores: Carrie Ann with a 9, Len with a 9 and Bruno with a 10. Total score of 28/30. They get their dance and they are going to be dancing the Jive to “Chantilly Lace” by Jerry Lee Lewis.

Next up is Romeo & Chelsie for the Individual Dance. They get in the rehearsal room and Romeo says that he is going to put in the hours and Chelsie teaches him how to get the dance moves and she is struggling with the choreography. Dancing the Tango, they come out and they do an intense dance. Carrie Ann says that was amazing and it was intense. He says that she couldn’t keep her eyes off him. Len says that he did a great job and so far they have been fantastic. Bruno says that he dances like a real man and it was great. They get their scores: Carrie Ann with a 9, Len with a 9 and Bruno with a 9. Total score of 27/30. They get their instant dance and it is the Salsa to “Tequila” by Xavier Cugat.

Next is Ralph & Karina for the Individual Dance. They get into the rehearsal room and during learning the choreography, he hurts his knee. They take him to the hospital and he has ruptured a cyst in his knee. He can’t do the rehearsal and Ralph says that it can’t end like this. Dancing the Viennese Waltz, the come out and they dance amazingly well despite Ralph’s injury. They go to the judges Len says that he did a great job with the dance. Bruno says that they were fascinating to watch and it was amazing to see what he did and gives credit to him. Carrie Ann says that he inspired people and says that it is hard to dance with an injury. They get their scores: Carrie Ann with an 8, Len with an 8 and Bruno with a 9. Total score of 25/30. They get their instant dance and it is the Cha-Cha with “Stuck In The Middle” by Stealers Wheel.

Last of the first round is Kirstie & Maksim. They get into the rehearsal room and they get their moves in, but Kirstie is having issues with keeping up and falls. Maksim says that she needs to stop with the dieting so that she is energetic. Dancing the Argentine Tango, they come out and it is sultry and great. Maksim shows off his muscles by lifting Kirstie up. They go to the judges and Bruno says that it was sultry and it was great to watch and says that her footwork was brilliant. Carrie Ann says that she loved it because it was real. Len says that she captured the feeling of the dance and it was great. They get their scores: Carrie Ann with a 9, Len with a 9 and Bruno with a 10. Total score of 28/30. They get their Instant Dance song and it is the Salsa to “Cobrastyle” by Teddybears ft. Mad Cobra.

Round two of the competition kicks off with Chelsea & Mark and they enter they show a clip of them rehearsing and Kyle Massey comes in and says that she needs to be more hot in her dance. Chelsea says that she is going to channel her inner Kyle Massey. They get out on stage and they have a lot of fun with it. They go to the judges and Len says that they did a great job. Bruno says that she is setting the bar really high and it was right on the money. Carrie Ann says that she didn’t feel a connection to the music. They get their scores: Carrie Ann with an 8, Len with a 9 and Bruno with a 9. Total score of 26/30 with a combined score of 55/60.

Hines & Kym are next up and they show a clip of them rehearsing and they tell that they have to take it to the next level and Hines gets nervous to the dance and they are not sure of themselves. Dancing the Jive, they come out on stage and they have a fun time getting through the dance. They go to the judges and Bruno says that it was like watching Mr. Happy Feet and says that it was incredible. Carrie Ann says that they did a great job and says that he was relaxed. Len says that Hines has worked hard and he did a fantastic job. They get their scores: Carrie Ann with a 9, Len with a 9 and Bruno with an 8. Total score of 26/30 with a combined score of 54/60.

Next is Romeo & Chelsie are next and they show a clip of their rehearsing. Chelsie says that they need to get down and dirty with their Salsa and they go to a real Salsa club. Chelsie tells Romeo to ask a girl to dance. Dancing the Salsa, they get out on the stage and are great with their footwork and have fun. They go to the judges and Carrie Ann says that it was casual, but it was a little off. Len says that they came out with the club atmosphere and it was good to watch. Bruno says that Salsa needs to be fluid and says that it was still good. They get their scores: Carrie Ann with a 8, Len with a 9 and Bruno with a 8. Total score of 25/30 with 52/60

Next is Ralph & Karina and they show a clip of Ralph talking about the pain that is going to happen, but he is going to do his best. Dancing the Cha-Cha, they come out and play on Ralph’s injury and dance like there was no injury at all. They go to the judges and Len says that he admires the perserverance and says that it wasn’t good. Bruno says that there was no hip action, but overall doing it was great. Carrie Ann says that she is impressed that they pulled it out, but overall it was lost. They get their scores: Carrie Ann with a 7, Len with a 7 and Bruno with a 7. Total score of 21/30 with a combined score of 46/60.

The final instant dance with Kirstie & Maksim is next. They show a clip of their rehearsal where Maksim says that they have to get the moves down. Dancing the Salsa, they come out with a lot of energy and have fun. Bruno says that she is a flirtatious vixen, but tells that she lost timing. Kirstie curses and Tom says that they have someone on the button for that. Carrie Ann says that it wasn’t bad but says that it lacked something. Len says that it was fabulous in their dancing. They get their scores: Carrie Ann with an 8, Len with a 9 and Bruno with an 8. Total score of 25/30 with a combined score of 53/60. The dancers have dance with Chelsea & Mark on top of the leader board and Ralph & Karina on the bottom.
