Season 13, Episode 15 - Recap
With David Arquette & Kym out of the running, Rob Kardashian & Cheryl, Nancy Grace & Tristan, Hope Solo & Maksim, J.R. Martinez & Karina and Ricki Lake & Derek are still in it as the Road to the Finals is coming. Tonight, they have two dances that includes the Instant Jive. The celebrities and the pros come down stairs and are all smiles.
First up of the night are Rob & Cheryl. They get to rehearsals and Cheryl says that they have to make sure that there are going to keep with their dances. She drills Rob through the routine. Dancing the Quick Step, they come out and do a great job. They go to the judges and Len says that when they started it was horrible, but then it changed and it was amazing. Bruno says that once he got started, his lines were amazing and says that the improvement was amazing. Carrie Ann says that he was light on his feet and it was great. They get their scores: Carrie Ann with a 9, Len with a 9 and Bruno with a 9. Total score of 27/30. Their song for their Instant Jive is “Maneater”
Next up is Hope & Maks. They get into rehearsals and Maks and Hope talk and Maks says that he was overly rough and Hope says that anything goes. They want to get a better, friendlier approach. Maks takes Hope to his family and they have a nice dinner. Dancing the Quick Step, they come out and are fantastic. They go to the judges and Bruno says that it is a night of miracles and says that it was her best dance yet. Carrie Ann gives Hope a hug and says that it was great. Len says that it was controlled and it was great and says that she fulfilled her potential. They get their scores: Carrie Ann with a 9, Len with a 9 and Bruno with a 9. Total score of 27/30. Their song is “The Best Damn Thing” for the Instant Jive later on.
Ricki & Derek are next and they get into rehearsal and they have a little issue getting the moves. They go see Jennifer Grey and she gives some pointers. Ricki gets the confidence she needed. Dancing the Waltz, they come out and they are great as always. They go to the judges and Carrie Ann says that she had a little stumble at the end, but says that she loves that she loses herself in the song. Len says that it was beautifully executed throughout the whole dance. He tells her that she needs to lead with her heel. Bruno says that she has artistic detail and it was absolutely beautiful. They get their scores: Carrie Ann with a 9, Len with a 9 and Bruno with a 10. Total score of 28/30. The best score of the night! Their song is “Land of 1000 Dances”.
Up next are Nancy & Tristan. They get into rehearsals and they are not communicating with each other and they find it frustrating and Tristan says that she has to listen to him. They get the moves down and are ready. Dancing the Tango, they come out and do a great job. They go to the judges and Len says that she has gone up and it was great. Bruno says that she did a great job with her sexiness. Carrie Ann says that it was really sharp and says that it was a great job. They get their scores: Carrie Ann with an 8, Len with an 8 and Bruno with an 8. Total score of 24/30. They get their song and it is “Upside Down”
J.R. & Karina are up next and they get into rehearsals and Karina gets frustrated that J.R. is all laughs. He gets serious and they get down to business. Dancing the Waltz, they come out and they do a great job. They go to the judges and Bruno says that it was like a musical Valentine’s Day card. He says that they were so in tune. Carrie Ann says that it was magic in the middle and it was great. Len says that he came back all guns blazing. They get their scores: Carrie Ann with a 10, Len with a 10 and Bruno with a 10. Total score of 30/30. The first perfect score of the season! Their song is “Tutti Frutti”.
First up for the Instant Jive are Rob & Cheryl. In the rehearsals, they get to the moves, but have issues getting what they want to do. They come out and do a good job. They go to the judges and Len says that there were no glaring mistakes and says that he did great. Bruno says that it was a great pace and says that it was good. Carrie Ann says that they did a good job and says that he has to point his toes. They get their scores: Carrie Ann with an 8, Len with an 8 and Bruno with an 8. Total score of 24/30. Grand Total of 51/60 for the night.
Hope & Maks are up for their Instant Jive and in rehearsals, they get to know their dance without their music and Hope says that she is going to make the Jive her “cup of tea”. They come out and do a great job. They go to the judges and Bruno says that she was like a wild child and says that needs to finish the move, but says that it was very good. Carrie Ann says that it was improvement and says that the hands her a little crazy. Len says that this was fantastic and says that it was everything. They get their scores: Carrie Ann with an 8, Len with a 9 and Bruno with an 8. Total score of 25/30. Grand Total of 52/60 for the night.
Next up are Ricki & Derek for their Instant Jive. They get into rehearsals and Derek has her get used to the dance by changing the song on her. They come out and do a great job. They go to the judges and Carrie Ann says that there were a few starts and stops and says that it was still good. Len says that she coped well and says that she did well. Bruno says that she is continuous, but some sections didn’t mix. They get their scores: Carrie Ann with an 8, Len with an 8 and Bruno with an 8. Total score of 24/30. Grand Total of 52/60 for the night.
Nancy & Tristan are next for the Instant Jive. In rehearsals, Tristan says that this is his first Instant Dance and it forces Nancy to get nervous. She says that she is the oldest, but she knew that. She says that she is going to Jive to stay in the competition. They come out and they do well. They get to the judges and Len says that it was good for 8 weeks, but now it is time to go home. Bruno says that the Jive has to be tight and it was loose. Carrie Ann says that she loved to watch them together. They get their scores: Carrie Ann with a 7, Len with a 6 and Bruno with a 7. Total score of 21/30. Grand total of 44/60 for the night.
Last for the night is J.R & Karina. In rehearsals, they want to redeem themselves and they want to show that they got it right. They come out and they do amazing. They go to the judges and Bruno says that he went off like a rocket and says that it was sensational. Carrie Ann says that he is in a class in his own. Len says that they came out with the most fantastic Jive of the night. They get their scores: Carrie Ann with a 10, Len with a 10 and Bruno with a 10. Total score of 30/30. Grand total of 60/60 for the night. That is it for the night and it is up to America to vote their favorite through.
