Why is Danny Phantom the only normal colored ghost while the rest of the ghosts we see are green, pale white etc? Vlad is half ghost too but when he's Plasmius he's a different color.

it probably has to do with auras and stuff. danny is only a halfa, so of course half his aura would be human like...vlad/plasmius is a diferent color cuz he got hit by the prototype IE: the ectoplasm he got hit with was laced with cola, where as danny got hit with a more PURE ecto beam. |

It seems to me that about half the ghosts you see in that show (well, the ones that don't even look remotely human anyway) were already paranormal beings to begin with (e.g. ectopusses, Skulker & his captives). The only exceptions to this would probably include The Box Ghost, Klemper, Ember, Spectra, Johnny, Kitty, Desiree, Sydney Pointdexter & the list goes on.
As for halfas like Danny & Vlad, I think their ghost forms are more likely to tie in with their personalities &, to a lesser extent, how they were dressed before they got zapped, as opposed to auras & the like.
Take Danny for example. In terms of personality, Danny is like any other teen his age, albeit a bit shy. When he got zapped, that's just what happened. In a way, you could say, their ghost forms are merely reflections of their mental states. This could explain why Danny's outfit is so much different than Vlad's. Danny's personality manifests in how simple & to the point his outfit is.
In Vlad's case, however, a simple life clearly was not what he was expecting. For Vlad, everything is a game to him & will stop at nothing until he emerges victorious. Naturally, he is ambitious & will go to many lengths to get what he so desperately desires. He is also easily jealous & even in his early days as a young man in college, this shows. He believes he deserved better & thought himself superior to Jack. In a way, this manifested in his ghost form. Vampires are said to represent not necessarily Dracula, but the more polished, sophisticated side to villainy, which, IMO, is very attractive indeed.
