  Episode Summary
Chaos reigns in Deadwood when Bullock and Hickok return to camp with a girl who survived the massacre of her family. Swearengen is uneasy at the alliance of Bullock and Hickok and does what he can to make sure they don’t turn people against him and he doesn’t want the little girl to tell what she may have seen. Hickok makes a new friend at the poker table, while dispatching another man who “meant him harm”.

  Episode Quotes
Al: What’s your partner so mad about all the time?
Sol: He’s not mad.
Al: He’s got a mean way of being happy.

Sol: (in reference to being insulted by Al) I’ve been called worse by better.

Charlie: (drunk) You're half fucking blind, ain’t you?
Jane: (even more drunk) Sometimes it’s a fucking blessing.

Ellsworth: (to Brom Garret) Don't weaken Pilgrim. 'Twixt nuggets and nothing she's usually going to show you some flake.

E.B. Farnum: (to Wild Bill Hickok) Separate rooms, I'll arrange that by tomorrow, but today I can't fix it ... unless you kill a guest.

Doc Cochran: I see more misery out of them moving to justify theirselves as them that set out to do harm.

Al Swearengen: Let's leave it all alone. I'm stupidest when I try to be funny.

Al Swearengen: You don't want to interfere with me.
Calamity Jane: You think I'm scared of you?
Al Swearengen: Sure you are. And if I take a knife to you you'll be scared worse and a long time dying.

Hickok: (to Jack McCall) If irritating me is the jackpot, you got the job done.

Alma Garret: I suppose a community such as this draws a certain type of man.

Al Swearengen: (to Bullock and Star) Here's my counter-offer to your counter-offer: go fuck yourself.

Con Stapleton: That man's gun never left his holster Mr. Hickok.
Bill Hickok: He meant me harm.
Tom Mason: (to Hickok) You killed my brother..
Hickok: And now I killed you.
