John Lacey, who are has recently got divorced , sees an advertisement in his newspaper for a '1-2-1' singles club and decides to give it a go.

John gets a letter from his ex-wifetelling him thatthat she will be requring more money from him. At the 1-2-1 Club, Kirk makes plans to take everybody to his favourite nightclub.

Ralph's had a really bad week. His electric razor's has broken down, his best friend, which is a terrapin has died, and he's also lost his job. He thinks everything has been caused by an ancient Egyptian curse.

10 :02x03 - Problems With Toby

After it looks like Toby could to be suffering from depression, Wendy thinks that it would be best if John doesn't see him for a little while. John's upset at first, but then becomes determined to find out what's wrong.

Ken's and Maggie's marriage is feeling ther pressure, and John is asked round for tea. Ken hopes that his presence will at least placate his wife, if not remind her of the good times they used to share. Things end up getting worse though.

After an attractive young woman comes up to John in a bar, he thinks all of his Christmasses have arrived at once. He also finds out that he's been successful in applying to become headmaster of his school. Things don't run as smoothly as hoped though.

John has to get through his first Christmas as a divorced man, and he's not looking forward to spending it on his own. Eyebrows end up being raised at the club after Kirk goes missing. Ralph is having some problems with a biker gang. After Mike breaks his leg, John's Christmas starts to look up.
