It Goes ThereRating: 7 likes, 1 dislikes Since the Degrassi franchise started in the mid-eighties, Linda Schuyler and her team of writers and directors began tackling issues no other show dared to even mention. Today, almost 25 after it's debut, Degrassi still goes there, and isn't going anywhere soon. Degrassi has covered a broad range of subjects important to today's youth, and young-adults. They realisticly cover almost every important issue you can think of, including eating disorders (without the cheesy Disney feel to it), teen pregnancy (and abortion), drug & alcohol use, pre-marital sex, school shootings, cutting, homosexuality, and rape. There is over 200 episodes combining all of the series together (100 alone with the Next Generation), and over 100 issues covered. Still, Degrassi has many issues yet to cover. The actors don't look like fake Hollywood stars, and look like actual teens. The show teaches you important morals and lessons, yet still remains to be intresting, and enjoyable to watch, without feeling like you're watching an after-school special. 8x15: Touch of Grey recap: Emma and Kelly are outside their dorm room, and because Liberty and Manny are gone, Emma jokingly wants them to go back to bed and cuddle, but Kelly doesn't want to miss a boring-yet-important lecture, and Emma reluctantly agrees. As they leave, a girl, Becca, stops them and tells Kelly how funny he was in a class the day before. Vicki, the dorm adviser walks by with Manny and Liberty, talking about the upcoming Floor Olympics, and says hi to Kelly and Emma, but calls her "Blond Emma", despite the fact that Emma dyed her hair brown, which makes Emma mad. Emma is also disappointed that Manny and Liberty are helping with the Floor Olympics, but she isn't', but they tell her she can help. Kelly's Frisbee buddy, Dyson, stops by, says hi to Kelly and Emma (who he calls "girlfriend of Kelly"), and thanks Kelly for helping him with his history paper, which he got a C+ on. The two high-five each other, and Dyson gives Kelly a thank you card and a gift. Emma is upset that she has been at Smithdale this long and nobody knows her as just Emma... read more.

4x1: Ghost in the Machine (1) recap: The episode begins with Paige, Spinner, and Craig standing around a used red car at Jeremiah Motors, with Craig and Paige suggesting nicknames for the car. Finally, Spinner decides to name it the "Love Mobile", and they christened it with a bottle of water. Joey comes over, and reminds Spinner that he hasn't bought the car yet. Spinner, with a wad of $2,700 he earned at The Dot in his hands, reluctantly gives Joey the money, and Joey gives Spinner the keys to his new car. Spinner and Paige then goes on a ride through the city. After a while, Spinner takes Paige home, and they make plans for the evening, but a police car shows up. The police officer walks up to Spinner's vehicle, and asks for Paige. He hands her a clipboard, and it informs her that she's due to appear in court, because she filed a sexual assault case two years prior, a few months after she was raped. Paige wasn't expecting this, and isn't sure that she's ready to face her rapist... read more.
