Derek is the younger brother of Liberty, and best friend to Derek Haig. Danny is a prankster, and lives just to have fun, and enjoy life, instead of taking everything serious like his sister does. Danny tends to slack off during school, and even joined the woman's studies class just to get closer to the female students, which shows his flirtatious behavior. He is also friends with Toby, and used to be friends with J.T. before his death.

Derek is a student at Degrassi, and is best friends with Danny Van Zandt, and is also good friends with Toby Isaacs. Derek plays basketball, and jokes around at Danny's house. His mother put him up for adoption when he was a baby, and was adopted at a young age. Despite his intelligence, his grades definitely doesn't show it due to him joking around during school.

She is Spinner's sister, and Spinner can be overprotective of anybody that wants to date her. She helps out in fundraisers, and is a big fan of anime. She and Toby dated for a while.

Mr. Perino is the social studies teacher at Degrassi Community School, and is very strict towards his students.

Ms. Kwan is the English teacher at Degrassi Community School. She works night school in order to pay the bills due to her husband's sickness.

Rick Murray was a drama geek, who had a crush on Terri Macgregor, and once Terri knew, they began dating. Rick was abusive to Terri, so they broke-up. A few weeks later, Rick apologized, and she invited him along to a retreat with Paige, Spinner, and a few other people. Rick became jealous when Terri wanted to hang-out with Paige the next day, so he pushed her hard into a rock, and Terri went to the hospital. Terri then moved. Rick also moved away. He moved back about a year later, but Emma and Paige made sure everybody knew what he'd done. The whole school despised him, and picked on him. He later befriended Toby, and they became friends. They, Jimmy, and Emma were part of a school quiz show, where Jay, Spinner, and Alex pulled a prank on him. He went home to get his father's gun, and brought it the school. He had the intention to kill his tormentors, but in the end, he only shot Jimmy. He was about to shoot Emma too, but Sean prevented it, which led to Rick's death.
