I have a hard time believing the Shep wouldn't have taken action had Derek kicked anyone else in the ribs... |

Other than the 5-second random "I was adopted and can relate to your baby" story in Season 5, which didn't really work, there has been no redeeming qualities of Derek.
First, he is casted as this cocky, arrogant basketball player, who makes fun of Jimmy, and later fights him, because he is in a wheel chair. You do not do that. He is later transformed into the annoying Diet JT/Toby "funny" "comic" reliefs. This just makes both of them look bad, even Danny. They are never actually funny, despite the writers best attempts. Then, in the most pointless storyline ever, Derek tries to get Mr. Perino fired for wanting him to be a good student. That was never resolved. He was later shown as part of J.T's posse, and had beer spilled on him in Rock This Town, which angered Jay. Which resulted in the murder. Yeah. Derek's fault. Oh yeah, and Derek helped spread the word of the party, which had the Lakehurst crew aware. Derek later, in Season 6, was pervy, and printed out Darcy's pic. This is partly Peter's fault, but whatever. Then in Season 7, he framed his best (and only?) friend for shoplifting because he was jealous of Danny dating a background 1-episode minor character...named Rachel. (Why do I know this?) A bit late, but Derek went on that date with Emma. Yeah, proves that Derek isn't interesting. In Degrassi of the Dead, Derek tries to blow up the school, and succeeds. Then, in Uptown Girl, he hooks Clare with a cane, probably choking her. Poor girl. Somehow, Derek made the football team, and missed the block, and later, beat up Jane. Derek is just not likable. He is not funny, charming, or whatever, and if the writers were aiming for that, they failed. I am glad they are going towards the "Derek is a villain" direction, because he should be on the level of Dean the rapist, and Rick the Murray, or Jay the Candy Bandit and Gonorrhea Outbreakist. Maybe Derek can be the schizo we talked about? Danny is a lot more likable of a person when he is away from Derek. So is Toby. And everyone.
Yeah..rant over. |

Yeah. You know how Derek is adopted? Well, rumor has it that his birth mother is Rick's Irish mother, making Derek the younger brother of Rick Murray. Derek Murray. That's why he was so angry at Jimmy and spits on Emma when she isn't looking. |

Haha..I was watching the old Season 7 episodes. There was a scene of Holly J and she was like..
Holly: Derek, there is something on your face.
Derek: What? *confused*
Holly: *whisper* Ugliness.
It made me laugh out loud.
I feel bad, because I am sure Marc Donato is a nice enough guy and not a fame w***e like Adamo.
ETA: Here are some pictures of him:
