It Goes ThereRating: 7 likes, 1 dislikes
Since the Degrassi franchise started in the mid-eighties, Linda Schuyler and her team of writers and directors began tackling issues no other show dared to even mention. Today, almost 25 after it's debut, Degrassi still goes there, and isn't going anywhere soon. Degrassi has covered a broad range of subjects important to today's youth, and young-adults. They realisticly cover almost every important issue you can think of, including eating disorders (without the cheesy Disney feel to it), teen pregnancy (and abortion), drug & alcohol use, pre-marital sex, school shootings, cutting, homosexuality, and rape. There is over 200 episodes combining all of the series together (100 alone with the Next Generation), and over 100 issues covered. Still, Degrassi has many issues yet to cover. The actors don't look like fake Hollywood stars, and look like actual teens. The show teaches you important morals and lessons, yet still remains to be intresting, and enjoyable to watch, without feeling like you're watching an after-school special. Let's hope The Third Generation remains true to the Degrassi spirit.

a good show with a good catchRating: 1 likes, 0 dislikes
Degrassi is a Canadian teen-flick TV series that very recommendable and suitable to viewed by all ages most especially the teenagers. The characters are from different kinds of beliefs and characterized by different cultural races. All episodes have powerful storylines that narrates the life story of the teenagers. Degrassi have wide ranges of topics on every episode, it tackles about the common issues faced by teens like early pregnancy, unwanted relationships and also bisexual issues. Let’s admit these are pretty realistic in a teen’s life. From all the casts of this show, Claire Edwards is the best character for me. I won’t spoil too much. So you better watch this show. I purchased a DVD Collection of it at http://www.memorylanedvd.com/product.php?productid=401441&cat=0&page=1 which came in excellent quality and complete episodes from the 10 seasons! This show truly is the right show for the actual teenagers - it's not a waste of time!
