"Degrassi Junior High" Summary |
| |
Degrassi Junior High, the predecessor of Degrassi High, and was based off of the show The Kids of Degrassi Street, covering grades 7 through 9. The show premiered in 1987. It aired Sunday afternoons, and was moved up to prime-time in the show's second season.
The show followed the daily lives of a group of students attending Degrassi Junior High, a fictional public school in Toronto. The show dealt with realistic issues that kids even today have like drugs, sex, peer pressure, eating disorders, teen pregnancy, and alcohol. The show was realistic, because they had normal kids play characters relevant to their own life.
