Penelope is rushed into the ER, doctors try to revive her but she is unresponsive to their attempts to revive her and is pronounced dead. A police officer visits the hospital and talks to the doctor who pronounced Penelope dead. He indicates to her that he thinks she was murdered.
Rita tends to Peters wounds. Alex confronts Rita about not telling him Peter is his father. Rita tells Alex that his father left right after she gave birth to him. She describes his father a drinker with big dreams that never became a reality. Rita apologizes to Alex for never telling the boys about Peter but at the time she thought it was best. Peter and Alex talk about the time they have spent apart. Louis comes home and sees Peter's beaten face, Alex tells Louis that Gamarras men were responsible for attacking Peter.
Victoria's car is repossessed for non-payment. When the repo man disrespects Victoria George tries to defend his sisters honor and is maced by the repo man.
Louis talks to Alex about leaving town. Louis decides to tell Andrea about Cara, and leave town himself in order to protect his family.
Jessica visits Harold and Andrea at the hospital and tells them about Penelope's death.
Outside the restaurant Joey's men are thrown off by the large amount of policemen at the restaurant. George talks to the men, and they tell him they need him to set up a private meeting with Louis. He agrees to do so for a price. Once the men leave Erica approaches George and asks what he was doing with the men.
Louis comes to the hospital and pulls Andrea away to talk to her. Louis tells Andrea that he has loved her from the moment he met her. Louis tells Andrea about his life in New Jersey, sleeping with Cara, and having Joey's men after him. Andrea tells Louis she needs some time to process what he has told her about his life before she knew him.
At the restaurant George introduces Detective Hawkins to the staff, Hawkins will be conducting the investigation of Penelope's murder. The detective speaks to Harold and George afterward and offers to make the case "wrap up nicely" for a price.
Daniel tells the detective from the hospital about the brandy Penelope drank before she died. She enters the restaurant and tells Detective Hawkins about what Daniel has told her. He has already taken the glass as evidence and tells her that the case is his not hers to deal with giving us the impression he has struck a deal with George and Harold.
George and Harold discuss the detectives payoff. Harold seems uncomfortable with the $15k payoff they are giving the detective.
Erica approaches George and tells him she knows he is going to give Louis up to Gamarras men. Erica offers to stay quiet for a price. George agrees to cut Erica in if she helps.
The female detective questions Christoph about his relationship with Penelope. In every interview she did she found that Christoph was having an affair with Penelope and keeping it a secret from his wife Claudia. The detective notes that Christoph doesn't like people touching his things.
Andrea goes and talks to Harold about Louis. She tells him what Louis told her about his past. Harold once again encourages Andrea to leave Louis for George.
Harold and George meet with Detective Hawkins and give him the money to make the investigation go away. Andrea watches from across the kitchen and overhears the conversation.
During a memorial service for Penelope we see Christoph on the roof obviously upset by Penelope's death, at the same time we see the detective who was paid off tossing the brandy glass into the sea.
Daniel and Claudia talk. Daniel tells Claudia that he thinks Christoph tried to poison him but poisoned Penelope by mistake when she drank from his glass. Daniels tells Claudia she should find somewhere safe to stay while the investigation is underway.
