Rita's Story - Recap

Asleep, Rita has a dream where she remembers Louis coming to their home in Jersey and telling her they needed to get out, right before he blew up their home. She then recalls the fight between Louis and Alex where they struggled over a gun and she lost her memory. Rita wakes up as the gunshot goes off. Rita writes her dream in her journal, and repeats to herself “Other what?” from her conversation with Erica the day before.

Louis comes home and finds Rita writing in a journal. When Louis asks to see the journal Rita refuses. She asks him if he knows anything about an explosion, or a gunshot, and Louis tells her she has been watching too much television.

Rita recalls when her home was broken into and Peter saved her, taking her back to his house to live. As Louis leaves, Rita thinks back to when Detective Lin came to visit. When Rita tries to leave, Louis’s bodyguard tells her that she is not allowed to leave, for her protection. Rita goes back inside and picks up her robe, finding the pictures Andrea placed there the day before in the pocket.

Rita calls Peter using the number she found on the back of the included Bella menu. She tells him that she got the pictures, but they didn’t spark anything. She thought if she called she would remember, while they talk Rita sees Louis’s men and has to get off the phone. When the men get inside they ask her if she was on the phone, and she tells them it was a wrong number.

Rita remembers recipes, and thinks back to a time Claudia came to Bella and ate her pastries. Rita sits down in the kitchen and starts to bake something. When she smells some rum butter, she thinks back to when she thought Louis was dead. While she bakes, she remembers that one of her sons was on TV. Rita asks Carmine if Louis was ever on TV, and he tells her he doesn’t think so.

Rita struggles to think. She leaves her notebook on the table and goes upstairs to look at the pictures again.

Carmine calls Louis and tells him that he thinks his mother made a phone call earlier. Louis calls home and asks Rita if she called anyone, and she again tells him it was a wrong number
