Remember Paul - Recap

<-- Previous EpisodeNext Episode -->
Mary Alice opens this episode reminiscing about how close all the
neighbors were in her lifetime. She ends with a caution that the day
comes that we all must wake up. Her wake up call was a blackmail
letter, so she killed herself. Mary Alice’s husband, Paul Young,
killed the sender of the letter, and the murdered woman’s sister
figured out he was the killer. She framed him for her murder by
chopping off her fingers and sending them to the police. Paul did
prison time for the murder.

Years later, a woman was pulled over for speeding. Since she had no
identification, she was arrested. Her name is Felicia Tillman, and
she’s the woman Paul went to jail for murdering.

A man in a suit shows up in Paul’s cell, hands him his settlement
check and suggests he go party. Paul says he only wants to go home.
Back to his old neighborhood. The man says they didn’t support him
during the trial or visit him in prison - he wouldn’t blame Paul if he
hated them a little. Paul said “Oh, I don’t hate them ... a little.”

An employee at the hospital who lives on Wysteria Lane is ordered to
inform someone living there that their child may have been switched at
birth.

Karen McCluskey runs to warn all the neighbors that Paul Young is back.

Bree tells Gaby that Andrew killed Carlos’ mother. Gaby gets really
upset, but only because Bree told her instead of Carlos. Now she has
to tell Carlos, who she says will kill Andrew, and therefore go to
prison. Bree says she only told her because her husband told her she
was a horrible person for keeping a secret. Gaby says we are all
horrible people, live with it. She falls sobbing into Bree’s arms,
saying that Carlos will probably find a way to blame her. At that
point Karen arrives, pounding on the door and yelling “You’re never
going to guess who’s back!”

All the kids and Tom are trying to tell Lynette what all needs doing
around the house. She tells everybody not holding a baby to hold up
their hand, and since all their hands are free they can take care of
things themselves. She has had five babies, and since she has given
birth to a basketball team, they can all fend for themselves.

Lynette takes a call from her best friend in college, Renee Perry.
Renee is married to a player for the Yankees, and she’s really rich.
Every few years she flies Lynette to New York, but not this time. This
time, she’s coming to Lynette’s humble abode. Now Lynette is ready to
clean, since Renee will be arriving tomorrow. She presses her entire
family into service to help clean. As she is bringing out the garbage,
she finds Karen, Bree and Gaby on the front steps. They’ve come to
tell her Paul is back.

Susan and Mike show their little boy Maynard their new home. They
reassure him that they’re not poor and they are going to save money so
they can move back into their house. The phone rings, and it’s the
call about Paul. Susan rented her house to him without even knowing
his name. Paul invites them all in so he can tell them the story of
how he’s free when he was supposed to be serving a life sentence.
Susan asked why he came back here, specifically, and he said that he
missed his friends.

Jack came from the hospital to talk to whoever might have a switched
baby. He tells Carols that Juanita might not be their child. Carlos
does not want Gaby to know as he feels this would destroy her. Jack
tells Carlos that they haven’t been able to track the other family
down. Jack insists Gaby has to know, and Carlos says he will tell her
himself. Not Jack.

Lynette lines her family up on the front porch as though they were a
Hallmark card because the one thing she has that Renee doesn’t is a
beautiful family. Renee arrives in a limo, and on the cell phone.
Renee is a bit arrogant, and it comes across in her comments. One of
the boys says Renee should stay with them and Lynette reluctantly
invites her. Renee happily accepts.

Susan delivers her security deposit and the landlady invites her in
for tea. She recruits Susan to do home porn, but it’s not really porn.
No nudity, no sex; the girls just clean in their lingerie. Susan is
against it, but the money is great. She stomps off in a huff.

Carlos and Juanita look at family photos. They talk about Carlos’ mom
while Gaby eavesdrops. Gaby tells Juanita how much she loves her, and
that if anything happened to her, it would ruin her whole life. Carlos
is eavesdropping.

Bree and Orson discuss things, and he suggests Bree needs a project.
She refuses, as she always makes busy work to avoid her emotions. They
hold hands and say good-bye. She goes and looks at all her family
photos, and the people she misses. She climbs on a chair to try to get
some wallpaper to stick, and when it won’t, she tears it off. She
keeps tearing, until most of the wallpaper is off. Orson calls to
check on her and she tells him she’s fine.

Paul goes to visit Felicia in prison. He gives her advice; it’s a good
idea to tip the guard who does your cavity search. She tells him she
knows he murdered her sister, and he laughs in her face. He hangs up
the phone, leans forward to the window and mouths “I did”.

Susan is having a jewelry party at Lynette’s, but it’s all ugly and
nobody can make themselves tell her so. Renee comes downstairs and
joins the ladies. Lynette and Renee just keep slamming each other.
Renee is married to Doug Perry, and the ladies discuss that a bit.
Renee takes a bunch of shots at Lynette, including that she settled.
She announces that she had a threesome with two of the guys on the
rugby team - and then they noticed Tom was home.

Tom and Lynette discuss how mean Renee is being. Tom says Lynette
should go tell Renee how she really feels, so she did. After she tells
Renee off, Renee announces that Doug has dumped her for another woman.
They start trading shots again after Lynette says Renee can stay.

Carlos goes and confronts Jack at the hospital, telling him he has two
options. Option one is that they sue the hospital for $10m or so. Jack
said that would bankrupt them. Carlos agrees, and says option two is
that they stop everything, and let it die. Juanita is their baby, and
the rest of it needs to stop. He says he will NOT tell Gaby.

Gaby tells Bree she cannot tell Carlos about Andrew being responsible
for his mother’s death. She says Carlos is so happy, life is good and
she doesn’t want to rock the boat.

Mike’s bank loan didn’t get approved. He thinks he’ll take a job in
Alaska. Six months to a year in Alaska gets him triple pay. Susan said
there’s got to be another way. Mike said there’s no way to make that
kind of money, and Susan said give me a month. She then went to the
landlady and agreed to do the Va-va-broom site.

A guy in a beater says no more wallpaper, make it a bold color. She
says deep beige. He says crimson. Just then Orson arrives and asks for
her June Hancock on their division of assets paperwork. Judy, his
physical therapist has been having feelings for Orson, and now Bree
knows. She goes back in the house and looks at the handyman with new
eyes.

Paul tells the Realtor he wants to buy his old house.

Susan starts her new job.

Felicia has plans for Paul. She tells her cellmate Paul will be dead
within six months. She says Paul doesn’t have friends on that street -
but she does.
