It's been two months, and Paul still isn't getting any. He's tried
everything. He finally hauls Beth off to a marriage therapist. She tells
him that she only wanted somebody to care about her. She never thought
Paul would be released from prison any time soon, or that when he was,
he'd expect sex.The doctor asks her if she does not like sex, and she's
not sure, exactly; she's a virgin. Paul doesn't believe her, since she's
30. The doctor tells them to date, court, get to know each other. Let
her develop normal, romantic feelings. Once that happens, Beth will want
nothing more than to share Paul's bed. She says she wouldn't mind going
to some nice restaurants. Paul reluctantly agrees but tells her that
until he gets some action, it'll be dutch treat.
Mary Alice talks about fear. Where Renee is concerned, the only fear she
has is that she might not be the center of attention. She announces to
the ladies of Wisteria Lane that she's having a party, and they all have
to come. Gabby says they can come by after trick-or-treating and before
Grace's sleepover with Juanita. However, this party is 'no kids allowed'.
Lynette's mother-in-law asks if she picked up her hand cream. Lynette
says she didn't ask her, but she will get it. Allison says her hands are
so dry, they're starting to crack, and bleed. Gabby looks queasy.
Lynette says she'll go get it now. She asks Allison to wake Paige at
3:00, because if she sleeps any later, she'll be up all night. Allison
agrees. She sees the party invitation, and gets all excited. Renee pulls
the invite out of her hand, says "No" and walks away.
Susan breaks the news to Mike about cleaning in her underwear to make
money. She asks him to say something, but he says he should have taken
the job in Alaska. They both beat themselves up, then Mike asks if
anybody saw her. She tells him Paul Young, and he's blackmailing her to
get their house. Mike grabs a hammer to head for Paul's. Susan jumps on
his back, saying violence isn't the answer. She has an idea that will
get Paul to back off. He says he's listening.
Juanita and Grace are chatting. Juanita finds Grace's necklace. Grace
says it was a gift from her aunt. Juanita steals it back and gives it to
Gabby. Gabby tells her it was a gift, because Grace's family is poor.
Juanita counters that Aunt Rosie is poor, but Gabby always hides her
jewelry box when she comes over. Gabby says that's because Grace isn't a
kleptomaniac with a meth habit. But now that she knows Juanita is good
at getting things back, she has some gold earrings that have been
missing since Aunt Rosie's last visit.
When Lynette gets home with the hand cream, Allison thanks her. She
tells Lynette she just used the last of her last jar. Paige is still
asleep. Lynette is exasperated with Allison. Allison blows up, and calls
Lynette a liar.
Susan brings Paul muffins, and tells him that due to the thumbtack
holding up the calendar, he's in violation of his lease. He has 60 days
to vacate the premises. When he tries to tell her she doesn't want to
cross him, she fills him in on Mike knowing the whole story. She holds
up the hammer Mike was going to use on his skull, and uses it on a
muffin as a visual aid, telling him that's what will happen to his skull
if Mike finds out he told anybody about her 'work'. He should enjoy the
raisin muffins; at least she hopes they're all raisins. Her apartment
has rats.
Bree arrives to see Keith's apartment. She had a frozen smile ready for
a standard bachelor's pad, but the place is tastefully appointed, and
she smells potpourri. He just switched to autumn blend. She wants to be
taken, right now, on that table. He asks if he should use a place mat.
They're kissing when a beautiful woman comes through, twice. She's Mimi,
Keith's roommate. Bree feels that frozen smile came in handy after all.
Paul takes Beth to a haunted house. He has her grab them a couple of
pieces of pumpkin bread. While she's doing so, he approaches one of the
parents and tells her about Susan's after school activities.
Lynette is trying to get the baby to sleep. She brings Allison's hand
cream to her room. When she opens Allison's bag, she finds ten jars of
the cream. She goes to talk to Tom, and fills him in on his mom. He
refuses to hear anything she says. When Lynette goes to bed, Tom looks
concerned.
Tom talks to Allison in the morning, and she calls him a worrywart. She
remembers stuff from when he was just a kid. Tom tells Lynette to see
how well she's doing. Lynette notes that it's 9:00 a.m. She's been doing
some research. There's something called 'sundowning.' Many people with
dementia are fine until the sun starts going down. Tom discounts her
again. He says Lynette has been trying to get her out of the house ever
since she walked in the door. Lynette says the other day, Allison made
tea and then left the stove on for an hour. There's a lot of that kind
of thing going on. She wants to take Allison to the doctor, but Tom
adamantly refuses. Lynette doesn't feel comfortable with her watching
the baby, until they know if Allison is really okay. Tom reiterates that
there is nothing wrong with his mom.
Bree confronts Mimi. She says Keith says they only slept together twice.
Mimi is shocked, since they never have slept together. Bree knows.
That's what Keith said. She just wanted to test her reaction. Mimi says
Bree shouldn't worry, she's all he talks about. She's going to go shower
and asks Bree to give Keith his mail. She finds a letter from the
department of corrections and heads right for Renee's to ask her if she
picked up any vibes when she was dating Keith. Renee tells Bree to spit
it out, so she does. Assault. Renee knew all about it. The bar they were
all at a few weeks back? Keith brought his girlfriend there a year ago.
Some guy hit on her, Keith hit him. No big. Bree asks if Keith told
Renee, and Renee says no. The bartender did. She always checks guys out
before she brings them home. She doesn't want to wind up handcuffed to
her bed for three days. Again.
Renee says there are better ways to find out if Keith is violent. Start
a fight with him. If he slugs you, he's violent. Bree feels that whoever
left Renee handcuffed to the bed for three days has her respect. Renee
blows her a kiss as she walks away.
Juanita is a dog, and Grace is a princess. Gabby tells Juanita she's
adorable, but all her attention is on Grace. Juanita tries to engage
her, but Gabby continues fawning over Grace. Juanita changes her mind,
she wants to be a princess too. Gabby says sorry, she's either going as
a dog or a little Mexican girl. And in this neighborhood, we both know
which one is getting more candy.
Susan got fired. Mike assumes it was Paul, but Susan says no. One of the
moms called the school. Probably caught her husband watching it or
something. Mike's calling Alaska. He'll be gone for three months. Susan
tells him he can't do that to MJ. He says do what to MJ, make an honest
living? How much thought did she give to MJ when she was dancing around
in her underwear? He tells her to take MJ trick or treating, and he's
going to make the phone call.
Beth and Paul come home from the haunted house. She gives him a
compliment. When he talks about the past, he looks happy. He tries to
kiss her, and she pushes him away. He says this isn't just about sex, he
could get that anywhere. He's trying to connect with Beth. He tries to
kiss her again, and she slaps him. He tells her he wants her gone by the
end of the week.
The kids are out trick or treating. Keith and Bree arrive at Renee's
party. Renee is Marilyn Monroe, but Keith doesn't know who she is. When
she sings "Happy Birthday, Mr. President", he thinks she's Michele Obama.
Allison thinks they're running out of candy. Tom reassures her that they
have plenty, and goes to get some. When the kids get to Scavo's house,
Tom's mom tells Grace she's as pretty as her mommy. Gabby says no, my
daughter's a dog. The dog. THAT dog. She scoops up two handfuls of candy
and puts it in Juanita's bag, whispering that it's cheaper than therapy.
When she and Penny get back inside, Allison notes that they are running
out of candy. She grabs her purse and heads for the store.
Lee arrives for Renee's party, and he's dressed just like Renee. Some
football player won't let Bree get away without giving him a kiss. She
calls Keith over to intercede, and he does. The guy walks away. Bree is
grateful, because nobody's ever defended her before. As she fills Keith
in, he follows the guy that was bothering her. Bree approaches, and
Keith tells the guy to apologize to her. He tosses Bree a very flippant
"Sorry." Keith tells him to try again, and this time, mean it. The guy
says "Or what?" Keith grabs him by his jersey and bounces him back a
foot or so. Bree calls his name, and Keith leaves the party. Bree follows.
She asks Keith what's going on. He said the first time he got arrested
over his temper, he thought it wasn't a problem. The second time, he
knew it was. So now that she knows, too? Bree should feel free to break
up with him, because she knows she wants to. She says she doesn't want
to, but he doesn't believe her. Not with her controlled smile, her
perfect house and her perfect lawn. She asks if he wants to talk about
her perfect lawn? Nine years ago, her son found her face down, drunk on
it. He had to turn the sprinklers on to wake her up. She says this is
the part of their relationship where they see each other's baggage. Is
there anything else he wants to share? Keith says no. What happened in
there was Bree seeing him at his worse. She doesn't think she saw
anything she can't handle. What about him. Can he handle a control freak
with a drinking problem? Apparently he can, because they share a
passionate kiss.
The Scavo boys are watching a scary movie. The doorbell rings, and Tom
asks his mom if she got that. Penny tells him she's not back yet. He
didn't know she was gone, and has been gone for awhile now. He asks the
boys to listen for the baby, and he heads out to find his mother. He
doesn't see her sitting on the curb.
Juanita is going to help Grace get the crown off, by taking a scissors
to her hair.
Lynette is walking out of the party with Lee, when Carlos calls. She
goes and finds Allison confused and disoriented. She tried to go to a
friend's house, but that person doesn't live on their street. Allison
accuses Lynette of trying to make her crazy. When Lynette reaches out to
her, Allison slaps her. Tom sees it. Allison apologizes, and reaches out
for Tom. He tells her it's okay. He's there.
Beth is on the phone with her mom. She wants to come home. Her mom tells
her she made a commitment, but Beth is so unhappy. She wants her mom to
be proud of her. She says she'll try.
Lee approaches Susan. Paul wanted him to check with her again, see if
they'd changed their minds about selling the house. He knew Susan's
situation had recently changed. Susan asked when Paul said that, and Lee
said it was that morning. She takes MJ's caveman club and heads for
Paul. She starts using the club the minute she gets in the door. He is
sliding across the floor on his back, trying to get away from Susan and
having no means to defend himself.
Beth shows up at the top of the stairs with a gun pointed at Susan. She
says she doesn't care what he did. Paul is her husband. Susan leaves.
Beth kisses Paul.
Gabby comes home from dropping Grace off. Fortunately, Grace lied to
Mrs. Sanchez and said it was all her idea, or she wouldn't be able to
come over and play with Juanita anymore. Juanita doesn't care, she's
only known Grace a month. Gabby is the one that wants her there. She's
always touching and kissing and hugging her. Carlos is in the doorway
when Juanita asks why she gave her necklace to Grace, when she doesn't
even let Juanita touch her jewelry. What's so special about Grace? Gabby
doesn't answer, and Juanita mutters "Whatever" and leaves. Carlos says
this is bad. Juanita knows something is up. They should take a break
from Grace. Gabby says no way. Carlos says they have to protect their
daughter. Gabby says they're both their daughters.
Tom is taking his mom to assisted living. She doesn't want to go. She
knows she'll never get out again. Her friends go in those places, and
they never come out. He's afraid of what will happen to her if she's not
in a safe place. She says the only bad thing happening here is what he's
doing to her. She reminds him that when he was at camp, he wanted to
come home. She said if you mean it, I will come get you. That's how it's
supposed to work.
