Where Do I Belong? - Recap

<-- Previous EpisodeNext Episode -->
Mary Alice shares the repercussions of Lynette finding out Tom's secret
that he slept with Renee, her best friend, 20 years ago. She is
punishing, torturing, and humiliating him. She'll tell him when she's
done getting revenge. Renee is there when his pants split. She sees a
seam ripper and puts 2+2 together. She thinks Lynette should be honest
with Tom, but Lynette's not ready. If she does, then they'll heal
together, and she's not ready to get over it.

Bree encounters Beth in church, but doesn't say anything. Her minister
asks her to befriend a lost soul, and Beth agrees without knowing he's
referring to Beth. She attempts to refuse. Bree and the reverend use the
Bible to beat each other into submission. He wins when he uses her
relationship with Keith against her.

Carlos and Gaby have Lee and Bob over for champagne brunch. The guys are
adopting a 10 year-old girl, whom Gaby pronounces "beautiful". She's
obviously very sad, close to tears. Carlos is being hard-nosed. He says
they agreed not to talk about Grace at all. Gaby excuses herself to get
champagne. She goes in the other room and finds her Grace doll.

Julie visits Susan in the hospital. She'd like to be considered for a
donor. Susan refuses, saying she'd rather go on the wait list. Mike asks
her to consider her mother. She doesn't even want her mother to know,
but Julie already told her, and she will be there tomorrow. Susan is
very angry.

Tom gets in his car and as he's driving away, Renee pops up in the
backseat. She tells him the truth about how Lynette is abusing him.

Bree visits Beth as ordered. Beth is defensive, and Bree owns that she
was sent there. Beth invites her in, and they have coffee. She defends
Paul. Bree says she doesn't think she can help with Paul, but she'd like
Beth to come to girls night. Beth is afraid they won't accept her but
Bree tells her they will deal.

Susan hears her mom arrive, bearing Aunt Clair. When Mike tells her they
are hoping for a family member match, her mother starts listing
everybody but herself. Mike tells her they were hoping she would, but
all she can say is "oh". She's about to go on a 90-day, non-refundable
cruise. She won't even get tested to see if she's a match. The two older
women excuse themselves to go check in, and go shopping.

Lynette creates brownies, heavy on the laxative powder. Tom refuses to
have one. Penny walks in, and asks if she can have a brownie. Lynette
says no, Tom says yes. Lynette stops her before she can take a bite, and
realizes Renee told him the truth. They start hashing out what happened
20 years ago, when he says they were broken up, and she says they were
taking a break. She distinctly remembers making a conscious decision to
stick with Tom, and it's killing her to realize that at that point? He
was sleeping with her best friend. She leaves the kitchen, fighting back
tears.

Bree and Gaby went shopping. It's been awhile since Gaby has had that
much fun. She stops being happy when she sees her Grace doll's clothes
on the steps. She finds Juanita playing with 'her' doll, who is missing
an arm (which is in Celia's mouth). Bree comes to investigate why Gaby
is yelling. Juanita tells her that it is Gaby's doll, but she tells Bree
it's a gift for Bob and Lee, because they are adopting a little girl.

Susan is being discharged. Julie was tested, but is not a match. Susan's
mom comes back and tries to act like nothing happened, but Susan is
having none of it. Aunt Clair offers to take everybody out for lunch,
but Susan is on a restricted diet. She also needs to get home for MJ.
When Clair snaps at her, Susan turns around and yells at her mom. All
Sophie can manage is "I'm sorry I disappointed you" before she turns and
leaves.

Clair shows up at Susan's. She wants Susan to let Sophie off the hook.
Susan refuses, so Clair tells her the truth. Sophie has breast cancer.
She starts chemo next week. She didn't tell Susan because she doesn't
want to be a burden. Susan wants to go talk to her, but Clair says no.
Sophie is trying to make up for a lifetime of "me, me, me". Let her do it.

Gaby takes the doll to the shop where she got it. The owner promises to
fix her up as good as new. Gaby asks her if her feelings about the doll
are normal, and the owner tells her no, she's fine. When Gaby hears that
the owner is actually delusional, she realizes her feelings for the
Grace doll are not normal. She asks Gaby for her doll's story, so Gaby
tells her the story of Grace. She ends it that her real mother hid her
away in the palace so nobody could take her. And they were never
separated, ever again.

Tom apologizes without reservation. He could just never find the right
moment. Lynette doesn't believe him. He says they've had so many
beautiful moments together, he didn't want to taint them with this
memory. It would be a shame if some meaningless encounter from 20 years
ago ruined this beautiful life they have built together. She refuses to
look up from her book, and he finally walks out.

Susan shows up at her mom's and apologizes for yesterday. Susan says
she's not worried, they'll find a donor. Sophie says she's so relieved.
Susan tells her we all think we're going to be here forever, that we
have all the time in the world to tell each other the important stuff
but we don't. Susan tells her a lot of good things she feels about her.
Sophie returns the favor, telling Susan her life began the day her
daughter was born. The phone rings, it's time for her to leave. Before
she goes, Susan says it would be great if they could take a trip. Just
the two of them. Sophie would love that. Just as soon as she's done with
her cruise.

The Scavo kids are sniping at each other. Tom is listening, Lynette is
trying to maintain her facade. The kids break through, and she quietly
reaches out and takes Tom's hand.

Everybody is at Bree's. She announces Beth is coming, and the girls take
it badly. Renee backs Bree. She says they're like the mean, pretty girls
in high school who won't let anybody else sit at their table. The
doorbell rings, and Bree asks everybody to make an effort for her.
There's a floral delivery, with no card. As the delivery man is leaving,
Beth comes up the walk.

Nobody will talk. Just Beth and Bree, but it's all very stilted. Beth
tries to leave, but Bree stops her. She then tells the women to come
help her in the kitchen. She then yells at everybody. Do they really
want Beth to wind up like Paul's first wife, Mary Alice? They take her
point to heart.

Beth finds a gun behind the couch cushion. It's not Bree's. It's a .38
caliber. Beth points out that Paul was shot with a .38. Beth assumes she
was invited over so they could get her fingerprints on the gun that was
used to shoot Paul. Gaby notes that she was sitting there before Beth
was, and she didn't feel any gun. Lynette points out that Beth was alone
in the room, and suddenly a gun makes an appearance? Beth asks where
she'd get a gun, and Susan says what about the one Beth pointed at her
on Halloween night. Beth decides they're all in on it, and leaves. She
says she's calling the police.

Keith comes to bed, where Bree is still fuming about what happened with
Beth. He teases her down to interactive. She mentions the flowers he
sent her, but he didn't send them. So where did they come from.

The flower delivery guy takes off his disguise. It's Mary Alice and
Paul's son.
