The Lies Ill-Concealed - Recap

<-- Previous EpisodeNext Episode -->
Susan is having erotic dreams about Paul Young. She wakes up stunned,
having already woken up Mike with all the festivities. She doesn't admit
that it wasn't him she was dreaming about.

Gaby is going to go meet the girls for coffee when Carlos stops her. He
tells her she can't join the girls if Bree is going to be there. She
can't believe he actually thinks he can tell her what to do. She
threatens to withhold sex, but Carlos reminds her that she always folds
before he does. He reiterates that since Bree knew her son Andrew ran
over Carlos' mother, they will no longer have anything to do with her.

Gaby calls Bree on her bluetooth, incredulous. This isn't
19-whenever-men-could-forbid-their-wives. Bree backs Carlos, saying he
has every right to feel as he does. Gaby is practically in tears at the
thought of no more shopping. Bree runs back in because she has scones in
the oven.

Tom gets home with news of a big leadership conference. Tom has been
invited to attend, and he wants Lynette to be his "plus one" with no
kids. She's so excited that she screams, waking up Paige.

Karen offers to watch MJ so Susan can go talk to Paul about what a mess
her old house is. She makes excuses so she doesn't have to speak to the
object of her nocturnal desires. Karen asks her to go over there anyway;
if Paul died, McCluskeys is downwind.

Susan heads over and is on the ground picking up packages and newspapers
when Paul answers the door with his robe open. She's eyeball level. She
gets up and tells him why she's there, asking him to close his robe. He
apologizes for the mess, he's been a bit of a hermit lately. She notices
he's thin and asks if he's been eating. He says yes, he's fine and
attempts to excuse himself. She checks again, and he reiterates that he
is sure he's fine.

Lynette and Tom are at the conference. Bob and Lee show up and advise
them not to bring up politics. Lynette meets and starts chatting with a
woman. She seems nice until she slams Lynette for "marrying up." Lynette
is not amused.

Gaby shows up over at Lynette's, where Bree is watering plants and
collecting mail. Gaby tries to act nonchalant, as though she had no clue
Lynette was out of town. Gaby asks if they can have coffee. Bree agrees,
and closes the drapes.

Felicia pays Karen a visit. Karen had no idea Felicia was out. She
brought Karen a gift from her sister to thank her for keeping her secret
all those years. Karen notes that it's not much of a secret anymore.
Felicia says she kept Karen's secret. She never told a soul what role
she played that night, and she never will. Karen looks to see if Roy is
around before continuing the conversation. Felicia invites Karen to stop
by sometime, so they can catch up. Karen says sure. She's surprised to
hear that Felicia is going to be her next-door-neighbor. Roy comments
that she looks like she's seen a ghost. She asks him to make her a
drink, and then she remembers what happened that night.

Karen was out looking for a cat when Felicia came through. This was
right after she cut her fingers off. Her blood is in his house, and her
fingers are in his car. He'll go away for murder, as long as Karen
doesn't tell anybody she saw Felicia that night. She won't give Felicia
her word, and Felicia runs in the house.

Lynette is in a class for flower arranging while Tom is in his
conference. She's been angry for hours, and Lee is tired of her sounding
off. She finally gets on her soapbox, but nobody is on the same page she
is.

Gaby indulges in Bree's pineapple upsidedown cake. They notice that they
feel the same feelings meeting against Carlos' will as each of them did
when they had an illicit affair. They're going to a spa together next
weekend.

Susan fills Mike in on the condition of their old house. She lies about
how she met with Paul earlier that day. Mike is angry, he doesn't trust
Paul and wants Susan to stay away from him. She says she will. She hits
the shower, and then dreams she's in the shower, and Paul joins her.
This wakes her up.

Lynette joins Tom, who already knows she can't be at the keynote address
with him. She fights to attend, but she's carted off by the woman in
charge of the "plus one" people.

Karen and Felicia chat over coffee. She breaks the news to Karen about
Beth being Paul's wife.

Susan asks her doctor about the Paul dreams. Her doctor says it's
natural that she's dreaming about him, and her dreams probably won't
stop if she turns her back on him.

Felicia tells Karen all about Beth and Paul. She twists things so it
looks really bad for him. She leaves out the part where she turned her
back on Beth. Karen volunteers to keep an eye on Paul, too. Felicia
counts herself lucky to have a friend like her.

Lee is still blissed out, and Lynette remains on simmer. The woman who
insulted her is on the phone, having a snit. She ends the call by saying
she's going to grab a soak before the next keynote speech. When she does
so, Lynette grabs her lanyard and throws Meg's clothes in a nearby hamper.

When she gets to the conference, she's ushered up front. She thinks
she's going to hear Chris Cavanaugh speech, but the next speaker is Meg
Butler - the woman whose lanyard she stole. She takes the microphone,
and Tom is beside himself. She promptly admits she's not Meg, but claims
Meg let her introduce Chris Cavanagh because she knows how much Lynette
admires him. As Lynette yammers on, Meg joins the conference and
announces that Lynette is the bitch that stole her lanyard, and her
clothes. Lynette announces Chris and exits, stage right. Tom sinks down
in his chair.

Susan goes to Paul's. She tells him he's a mess, and he needs to take
care of himself. She says she's his landlord, and she has a right to
come in. But she'd like him to invite her in. He lets her in. He's
trying to make potato leek soup, so she asks if he needs some help.

Renee arrives in the middle of Lynette and Tom's post-conference
disagreement. He thinks he's a laughingstock, thanks to Lynette's
antics. She thinks he needs to let it go, but Tom points out that after
all the years he took a backseat to her career, she couldn't do the same
for him. He leaves, and Renee sets the record straight. Lynette wasn't
treated like a second-class citizen. She was treated like a wife. Which
she is. She needs to get used to it. Lynette doesn't want to get used to
it. Okay, fine; then she has a decision to make. Does she want to be a
wife, or a first wife?

Carlos comes home, starving. There's some pineapple upsidedown cake on
the counter, and he knows it's Bree's. Gaby tries saying she made it,
but he knows her as the woman who orders in Chinese for Christmas
dinner. She won't back down, so Carlos asks her to make another one just
like it. He'll watch. Gaby grabs the flour, winds up wearing it, and
starts taking her clothes off. Carlos knows what she's up to, and
insists she make the cake. She goes upstairs to freshen up, and calls
Bree. She tells Gaby not to panic, they can do this.

Gaby goes back downstairs wearing her bluetooth so Bree can give her
instructions. Carlos notices that she's talking to somebody but she
claims it's her grandmother, since it's her recipe and it makes Gaby
feel like they're baking together.

Paul says Susan's soup is very good. She joins him, wondering when they
last ate together. She thinks it was before Mary Alice died. Maybe they
should start breaking bread together again. Paul doesn't think that's a
good idea.

Mike sees that Susan is over at Paul's, thanks to Mrs. McCluskey.

Susan remembers who Paul was back when they were friends. She liked him.
She thinks he can be that guy again. They see Mike headed their way, and
Susan goes out to greet him. Mike is angry, but Susan continues
defending him. She also doesn't appreciate Mike treating her like a
child that needs to be watched out for. He can support her or not, but
she's going back in. He won't answer, so she goes back in.

Bree's cake turns out perfect, and Gaby's is horrible. She puts it on
the window sill to cool, and Bree dashes over there and switches the cakes.

Susan gets home after dark to find a candlelit dinner waiting. Mike
notes that she looks surprised. They put the Paul situation behind them,
and get back on track for sex night. He picks her up and heads down the
hall.

Gaby heads out for the spa, but tells Carlos she's going to an old
modeling friend's funeral. He appreciates her distancing herself from
Bree at his request. While they are hugging, he admires her coat and
asks if it's new. She says yes, she just bought it this week. Carlos
feels it's then safe to assume this long red hair just got on it
recently. Gabby claims she hugged a clown. A depressed clown. His monkey
died.

Carlos opens her suitcase and finds three bikinis. What, is her friend
being buried at sea? He's angry that she didn't honor his wishes. Gaby
gets exasperated and asked what he expected? He expected her to choose
him. He forces the issue. Does she want him in her life, or Bree. She
chooses Bree, and brings her girls with.
