A fictitious documentary film crew follows one of Detroit's top homicide divisions. The men and women of Detroit Homicide struggle with their own inner demons as they battle crime in the city. Detective Louis Fitch is the division's most-respected official, a wily but misunderstood veteran. Fitch's new partner is Detective Damon Washington, whose first days on the job are complicated by the imminent birth of his first child. The group is led by Lt. Agent Harkins discovers the truth about Fitch and Stram in New York, but still doesn't realize that any attempt to take out Stram could jeopardize several innocent people - including Washington, his wife and newborn child.

With the help of Lt. Mason, Longford and Mahajan, Fitch decides to take care of Stram before Harkins and The FBI can get to him.

1x18: Blackout recap: The scene opens with Longford getting ready to meet with someone to file for retirement. He walks in and says that he feels like he is in Tuscany already. However, the man is not talkative and hurries the process along. He tells that all Longford has to do is wait 60 days for the retirement. Longford rips up the application and tells him to forget about it and pretend he wasn’t even there. The man tells that it is not that easy. Meanwhile, Majahan talks to the medical examiner and says that Angeli is coming for a visit and says that he is happy. The medical examiner is opening up a cadaver at the moment of this talk and Majahan is losing his train of thought. She says that Majahan doesn’t seem that he is excited because he has built up the girl and doesn’t want to be disappointed. The medical examiner tells him that she is good getting inside people’s heads as she reaches for the instrument to get into the cadaver’s head and goes to work... read more.

1x17: Motor City Blues recap: The scene opens with everyone mourning over the fact that Stone was killed by Riley in the last episode, especially Sanchez. Majahan wakes up next to a girl that he picked up and feels ashamed. Washington smiles down on his little boy while Longford is at the shooting range complaining about his shoulder and seeing that his aim is off a lot. Fitch visits Sanchez and tells her that everyone misses her down at the station. He says that it is hard to come back after what happened, but says that he knows that she will be able to make it through. She is lost she says and Fitch says that everyone is only when they don’t want people know who they really are and what they are feeling. 1x16: Stone Cold recap: The scene opens Washington worried about what Fitch is doing with his Performance Evaluation. Sanchez tells him not to worry about it and that Washington did just fine. Stone is on the phone with Riley and he tells her that he will be home soon. Stone tries to talk to Sanchez and she tells that he doesn’t have to worry about it. Longford gets off the phone with his daughter and tells Majahan that she is engaged. Majahan tries to give congratulations, but Longford is not happy about it. Lt. Mason tells the team that they have a coed that was found murdered in her dorm room and everyone is to get on the case. They arrive at the crime scene. The victim is Dawn Caughfield. Fitch finds a diamond on the floor. There is signs of a struggle. Stone and Sanchez talk to the roommate. She says that Dawn has been dating a guy. 1x15: Legacy/Drag City recap: The scene opens with Stone asking Sanchez why she won’t stay over at his house. Wendy walks over and asks why they are brewing their own coffee, but Stone says that they got it. Sanchez says that she likes her place. Longford and Majahan ask Agent Harkins why she is called “Special Agent”. She says that it is nothing. Majahan, Longford, and Harkins go to their crime scene and it is the death of a woman who was beat to death. However, Harkins finds red paint next to the body. The medical examiner takes a quicker look and the victim is actually a Drag Queen. Meanwhile, Stone and Sanchez stop by a hospital and Stone asks the nurse to see a Riley Sullivan. 1x14: Beaten/Cover Letter recap: The scene opens with Agent Harkins walking into DPD and Lt. Mason comes out and tells the team that they are going to be observed by Harkins in their case. Fitch stands up and welcomes her to the unit. The other follow right after. She tells that she is going to be following Fitch and Washington. Fitch asks to see Mason in her office and tells her that he already had enough time with Harkins and that it is not fair to him. She tells that she specifically requested Fitch. Mason gets a call and gives Fitch a piece of paper. They have a case. At a dinner, they find the body of Vanessa King. She was beaten to death. Harkins falls behind and Fitch doesn’t care.
