A young waitress - the fiance of a Detroit boxer who is poised to earn a lot of money from his next fight - is found beaten to death at a diner. Fitch, Washington, Sanchez and Stone take on the case, and none of them are thrilled that Jess Hawkins will be tagging along and observing their detective work.
Meanwhile, Longford and Mahajan check into the cold case of a man who was murdered five years ago when his mother stops by the precinct with a handful of love letters she had found. They track down the woman he was corresponding with to get some answers.
The scene opens with Agent Harkins walking into DPD and Lt. Mason comes out and tells the team that they are going to be observed by Harkins in their case. Fitch stands up and welcomes her to the unit. The other follow right after. She tells that she is going to be following Fitch and Washington. Fitch asks to see Mason in her office and tells her that he already had enough time with Harkins and that it is not fair to him. She tells that she specifically requested Fitch. Mason gets a call and gives Fitch a piece of paper. They have a case. At a dinner, they find the body of Vanessa King. She was beaten to death. Harkins falls behind and Fitch doesn’t care. Mr. King, Vanessa’s father, comes in and they hold him back and tell that they need to secure the crime scene. He tells that she and Tommy Westin, a famous boxer, were supposed to get married. Fitch asks if it is possible that Tommy did it, and Mr. King tells that it is impossible. ..Read the full recap
