Dexter is incredibly lost. He feels like Brian, his brother, has found him. They are on the boat getting rid of Nick's body. He's tired of pretending to have light in him. Brian says he can keep going.

Dexter gets a call from Deb telling him that she has information for him. She tells him that Trinity is "back" as he killed again. He killed his wife and his daughter. Jonah survived. He has decided that it is time for a road trip. They decide to go kill Jonah.

Travis is with his sister and she's happy that he's there. She loves having him there and she wonders if there's a problem. He says that he can't figure out to "turn off the predictive text on his phone". He wants her to get the day off, so they can spend time together.

He sees Gellar and he tells him that he's done. He wants to go into his sister's house, but he won't let him. He threatens her and he tells him to stay the "eff" away.

Dexter looks into Rebecca's death. It's exactly how Trinity would kill someone. Brian says that Jonah has some real talent and they assume he really is a serial killer. Despite the DDK, he goes on this road trip with Brian.

Dexter gets Jamie to watch Harrison for 4 or 5 days. She says it is perfect timing. They start off and they enjoy a long drive. Things are quiet and Dexter calls out of work for more than a day.

Deb deals with a hearing about her percentage of closed cases. LaGuerta is hardcore with her. The clearance rate has dropped to 29%. She felt like it was a personal attack. She tells her that if she improves her numbers, everything will be okay. Deb feels like she's in an impossible position.

Dexter and Brian go into a rest stop and see someone there that is cute. He convinces him to sleep with her and they do. Brian was wondering if it would've been more fun to kill her than sleep with her. He said he got what he wanted. They have a grand time shooting at random targets. Dexter doesn't even like guns.

Dexter gets to Jonah's job and Jonah says "Hello, Dexter Morgan". He wonders how he knew and it was when Rita died that they found out. He says that they decided not to tell the FBI about him. They listen to his story about his sister and his mother, they don't believe him of course; Since Trinity is already dead. They are both sorry for each other's losses and tells him to go back to Miami. He says he'll be okay.

Batista tells Deb about the freed victim. They go to see her and she tells them about how they made her drink blood and that the "younger one" was clearly the weakest. Dexter is driving and Brian asks what it is about her and him. He wonders if she's really worth it. They find a motel that claims to have no vacancy. He gets a room, though. The motel clerk is "odd" and offers to help him with his car. He's suspicious about his landscaping cover and wonders why he's there. Dexter goes for a walk around and finds a crop of marijuana. They call him Shady Norm.

Travis rides up to the secret church and goes in to see Gellar pull the guts out of a body that may be an animal or a human. The detectives figure out that they were trying to get her drunk on the blood of the saints.

Jamie and Louis are on their date and he tells her about the game that he is working on. He is modeling the characters after everyone at the squad. Deb shows up at the date looking for Dexter. Deb calls from Jamie's phone and wonders where he is. She tells him that they had a break through on the DDK case. She wonders where he is and he doesn't know. He says it's "personal". They decide it is time to deal with Jonah now. Norm is watching.

Brian and Dexter argue over Harry's code. He tells Dexter that he doesn't need justification to kill. They go to Jonah's and walk in to case the house. Dexter realizes he cleaned up. Brian wants to know why they aren't setting up a kill room. Dexter goes through what could have possibly happened and they find a little bit of blood. They make a test for bleach, but Jonah shows up. He tells him to get out of the house.

Dexter runs through what could've happened, there are a lot of holes in his story. He tells him he knows for a fact that Trinity did not kill anyone in the house. Jonah asks if it is because he killed him. He says yes and calls him on killing his mother and sister. Jonah runs. Now there is time for the chase. They decide to set up a kill room now.

Dexter goes back to the hotel and Brian goes to the shed. Norm found his knife set and a lot of other interesting parts of his kit. He wonders if Dexter is part of the DEA. Norm wants $10,000 for the set and Dexter ends up pitchforking him over pulling a gun on him. Brian asks why he wakes up his victims when they're on the table and realizes that he likes to see the light go out of his victim's eyes. He asks Dexter how he feels and he says he feels like anything is possible. They dispose of is body in the water tower.

Next, they go for Jonah. Travis gets rid all the stuff that was Gellar's. He wants closure. Gellar tells him all of these awful stories that keep happening around the country. Gellar says they need to put a stop to all of this evil. Travis wants to be free, that is all. He says he'll talk to God and he'll release him.

Quinn is looming in the door way of Deb's office. He wants to apologize for being a jerk at the party and sleeping with the professor. He also apologizes for what he said. He wants to know if they had something good. She tells him that they did. He misses her and wants to try, but she won't. It hurts him, but he accepts it.

The guys prepare to kill Jonah. Jonah fights it, but he really does want Dexter to kill him. He wants to know what happened. He tells him that Becca killed herself, but he did kill his mother. She blamed them for everything that was ever done. She loved him and defended him. When he found Becca, he snapped and started beating her. He says that he's his father's son. He can't kill him, because he thinks that he's not a monster and wonders what if it were Harrison. He says he has a conscience and regret. He and Brian get into a bit of an argument and eventually he pushes his "dark passenger" out. He says he's going home and he does. Jonah asks before he does, how he's supposed to live with it. Dexter says to forgive himself.

Louis has a program that cut the names down to 200 on the DDK list. Travis is washing dishes and his sister tells him to be ready soon.

On the way home, Dexter picks up his old passenger; Harry.
