The episode begins with Dexter speeding through highway traffic towards the airport. He stops for gas and, finding his cards declined, goes to the trunk for cash. At the airport he buys a ticket for Budapest, despite eyeing a flight to Munich-Kiev. He flashes back to when Debra finds him with Travis on the slab. Dexter tells her "I snapped," explaining Rita's death. She asks about him being wrapped in plastic and he says it's just "second nature not to leave a trace". When Debra tries to call the station he stops her, pointing out how weird everything looks. He points out that even if it's ruled self-defense he'd lose his job and his son. ..
