Episode discussion for: 06x12 | This Is the Way the World Ends (Dec 18, 2011)

Holy Molly, Deb walks in on Dexter - in a killing room!!!!

And she "loves"him, man what a mess next season will be. This started out a bad season but ended pretty well.

Yeah, this was one crazy cliffhanger finale. Even sicker then the S4 one. A very good ending to a "slow" season. Can't wait for S7 .. another 10 monts

certainly didn't think this was gonna happen... especially since it was announced that Dexter was picked up for 2 more seasons. will make a very interesting next two years.

There is something wrong about the ending. Dexter had setup his killing room in the church, but I thought it was in some remote small room, not the large room where Deb walked in. I hope they don't resolve this as some lame dream that Dexter is having.

^don't know where you got the smallroom thing from cos I always took it to be in the main "large crossed everywhere and where all those horrific paintings were hung" place.

Here are some screencaps to show what I mean from episode 6x09.

Here is Dexter laying out the plastic on the floor with Harry watching

Here is Dexter talking to Harry with the floor to ceiling plastic behind him (hard to see in this snap, sorry)

Here is Dexter leaving the killing room

Here is Dexter a few seconds later entering the big room

Here is a few seconds later as the camera draws back

This season would have been waaaaay better if the writers had continued the suspicions of Quinn from last season. Also Deb has had several question marks over her head in dealing with Dexter's sudden appearances at crime sites. Both of those plot lines should have been followed this season. I almost quit watching - but glad I didn't.

It doesn't of course, I was just speculating that something was hinky. Why would he go to such trouble to setup his killing room and then setup another right next to it, especially since it is the active crime scene. I was just wondering if the writers were leaving themselves a way out of their dilemma.
