Yeah and way to fast at that. It's gonna be mixed emotions for me. And I'll bet a lot of loose ends.

Yes, my gut tells me that -especially with this being the penultimate season- we will be getting maybe an even bigger cliffhanger than last year. I'm very curious were things will go, as always

Looks like you were right, cliffhanger indeed. Hard to believe next year is the last but it is getting old.

Dexter, "I've never done a normal killing before." LOL

Well, the cliffhanger wasn't as big as I expected (and I'm actually happy about that). I kind of saw the moment coming. I'd figured it'd be Hannah but the fact that Deb killed someone to protect Dexter didn't fully surprise me.

Speaking of Hannah, I'm wondering if those flowers were a goodbye or if it was more of a message like "I'm still here and I'll be seeing you". Probably the first, but the second would be interesting as well

And it was so awesome to see Doakes again Nobody has ever been such a pain in the ass to Dex as Doakes, was cool to see it again.

I also loved seeing Doakes again, He was killed off way to soon, would have been better if Doakes had stayed around longer. He was an interesting character and had some great lines about Dexter being creepy.

The flowers, I totally missed the idea of the flowers, I hope your second guess is right, she'll be back.

@tinalessia, near the end of the episode there is a shot of Hannah putting a plant/flowers in front of Dexter's apartment.

Does anybody know what kind of flowers they were? That might be a clue. I know 2 things about flowers, they are a Rose; or, they are not a rose.

iiuc they are Black Orchids - tvline had an interview with the writer/producer/teaboy(?) of the series (forget which)

meaning (from google search) "The black orchid has many symbolisms. Many consider black as the color of death, and attribute evil connotations to it. However, the black orchid, with its imposing color and mysterious beauty, also signifies great power and absolute authority, and commands submission."

btw: I so called it on Hannah poisoning Deb,

[edit] just checked and yes, "It was a black orchid, so it was meant as a rather ominous goodbye."

So yeah, there was/is meaning to the type of flower she gave, but methinks the pot with its "I'm sooooo gonna kill you next season" label also meant something too.

I see Dexter dying as a great finale, sad also, but Deb will be free and clear then. Maybe.

I'm leaning towards either

(1) Dexter + Son on the beach in some foreign land, them having escaped and his dark passenger put to rest
(2) them doing a time-jump thing like wot they did with Harry Potter (iiuc) but in this case they jump some 20 odd years and we find Dexter all wrapped up just as Dexter Jnr stabs him
(3) Dexter and Deb driving alone, stop to admire some pidgeons/doves and then both dying in a hail of bullets from the meanold Sheriff and bunch of towns folk.
or (4) Dexter dying after being nailed to a plank of wood for 3 days.

or something else.

Yeah, I figure that Dexter dying would be a realistic finale, the killer finally gets killed. Maybe even by Deb?

But there are so many alternatives, we'll just have to see where the final season will take us, can't wait!
