Dexter

Dexter

Based loosely on novels by author Jeff Lindsay, Dexter follows the life of Dexter Morgan (Michael C. Hall), a charismatic blood spatter analyst who works in the forensics at the Miami Metro Police Department. On the outside, Dexter seems like the perfect guy -- he has a sister, Debra (Jennifer Carpenter), that adores him and a steady girlfriend, Rita (Julie Benz), with two kids that look up to him. However, what they don't know is that Dexter moonlights as a serial killer, only he isn't your typical killer. Basing his life on the teachings of his foster father, Dexter only kills people who truly deserve it: he ensures that those who got away with horrible crimes will never kill again.

A wordy explanation of this show does not do it justice, you just have to see it to understand. This show is one of the best on television. I dumped cinemax to get showtime just so I can watch this show. I dont know how, but they actually get better every episode you watch. They started out really strong, and I was expecting it to go downhill over time, but it just keeps getting better. This last episode, #10, was simply incredible. The very best one yet. If you only have time for one show per week, it should be Dexter. It will blow your mind. Read more

I just dont have words to describe the show, it was so good that it made me find the book and read it. It turned out that the show is ten times better than the book. The book was boring, slow and nothing like the show, the show has more characters, which are more sophisticated and it really grabs you. Read more

Recaps
8x12: Remember the Monsters? recap: Dexter rushes through the airport with Harrison. They find the gate they are looking for but Hannah is nowhere in sight. She calls him from the bathroom and says that Elway followed her. They won't be able to board the plane without him seeing: he must have bought a plane ticket in order to get through to the boarding area. Their plane is boarding right now but Elway is outside of the washroom so Hannah can't leave. Dexter hatches a plan to purchase a bunch of suspicious items and place them in a backpack. Dexter talks to one of the airport employees and points out Elway, and says that he left a bag out and was acting strange. The employee calls security and they take Elway away. Hannah meets up with Dexter and while they are now free of Elway, no planes will be taking off for awhile... read more.

8x11: Monkey in a Box recap: Dexter washes the blood off of his hands in a sink. Vogel warned Dexter that he was straddling two worlds and he ignored her. She paid the price and now he must remove himself from her life. He is destroying all the evidence that he was ever her victim. Dexter reports the murder and answers Angel's questions when he arrives. Angel won't allow him to work on the case. Tomorrow is Dexter's last day on the police force. He hopes that he has enough time to catch Saxon... read more.

8x10: Goodbye Miami recap: Vogel eats breakfast with her son, Daniel. He doesn't consider her his mother any more but she says she will do anything to make it up to him. Vogel couldn't visit him in the institute because she couldn't get over him murdering her other son. Daniel feels that while he was locked away Vogel treated Dexter like her real son. She apologizes for everything that has happened but he can't believe her... read more.

8x9: Make Your Own Kind of Music recap: Dexter wakes up in bed with Hannah. When she wakes up, Dexter thinks he should see Dr. Vogel after what happened to Zach. He tells Hannah to stay hidden but she has to go out to get money from Arlene now that her alias has been compromised. They both say they love each other and Dexter leaves to meet up with Vogel at Zach's office... read more.

8x8: Are We There Yet? recap: Dexter has trouble focusing on taking pictures of the crime scene and Cassie's body because he's distracted by thoughts of Hannah. He finds blood under Cassie's nails and thinks it may be Zach's blood. Cassie's murder is very similar to the Norma Rivera case. Deb shows up to see how Dexter is handling Cassie's death, and also to ask if Hannah is still in town. She leaves the crime scene because she feels out of place, but promises to continue the conversation with Dexter later... read more.
