As the ninth incarnation of the intrepid Time Lord, this Doctor has to continue his quest to fight evil and help bring an end to injustice throughout the universe. Being the last of the Time Lords puts a heavy burden on him. At the end of Series 1, the Ninth Doctor dies, having sacrificed his life to save his companion Rose Tyler, and regenerates into a new form: the Tenth Doctor. |
