David Troughton is the son of Patrick Troughton, who played the Second Doctor from 1966 to 1969. David had previously appeared in the original series as King Peladon of Peladon, in "The Curse of Peladon" (1972), as well as a small role as a private in "The War Games" (1969).
| This episode marks another appearance of Rose (Billie Piper). She appear on the view screen behind the Doctor, calling out to him, as the power goes out. However, the Doctor has his back turned to the screen and doesn't see her.
