The revelation behind Morrisey's character was handled fairly well, the first fifteen or so minutes really had you unsure on several things. The use of the fob-watch was excellent in that it served the exact same purpose as Gallifreyan watches for Morrisey's characters, straight to the turn around revealing the initials. The use of flashbacks to the data-stamp's activation masquerading as the faux regeneration was also a nice touch. Was there a small nod to the Pertwee era with Morrisey finding the BBC One Baloon difficult to prepare? I'd like to think so.

Unfortunatly, once the mystery regarding Morrisey is resolved...he vanishes, or becomes a part of the scenery. Tennant took over his moment. He ought to have bailed The Doctor out of the Cyber-King in The BBC One Baloon..instead, he doesnt even fly the contraption.

How the void-striken Cybermen aqquired flashbacks to The Doctor's past and even moments where they werent even present are headaches that can be ignored. It's Doctor Who...it'll make sense somehow, and someday. Besides, the Temporal device might have helped plug in the gaps.

One of the highlights was Russel's small tribute to "Dark Season" with Mercy Hartigan's assimilation/hijacking of the Cyber-King robot and the throne room rising with the remainder of the factory. That was similar to the conclusion of the second episode of "Dark Season"'s second serial

****1/2

Not as good as "Runaway Bride" (IMO, the best of the specials as it actually has real scope and contributes to later storylines in seasons three and four), but for a good mystery/filler episode with a guest actor that actually cares that he's on DW, it's as good as you'll get.

No idea when I'm going to get to see it over here...I'll probably have to wait till someone posts it online somewhere...but wasn't this suposed to be loosely based on the Big Finish Audio "The One Doctor" the same way the episode "Dalek" was loosely based on the audio "Jubilee"

It wasnt loosely based on it for the most part. Morrisey wasnt a conscious "poser"

Well loosely in the same way "Dalek" was loosely based on "Jubilee"...not the same story, just starting with the basic idea. In this case a second "Doctor" that isn't what he first appears
