The First Doctor [1963-1966], played by William Hartnell
The first incarnation of the Doctor. This incartion of The Doctor was the original Doctor who had a granddaughter called Susan Foreman. He kidnapped two schoolteachers fearing that they would tell everyone about his mysterious Tardis. This Doctor has met The 2nd, 3rd and 5th incarnations of himself. As he revealed in The Five Doctors he was The Doctor "The original, you might say." He was known to everyone as a grumpy old man and his companions in order of appearance were: Susan, Ian, Barbara, Dodo, Steven, Katarina, Bret Yvon, Dodo and Ben and Polly. Then in The Tenth Planet this Doctor's frail body could take no more and he collapsed and changed into a younger man and it was called "regeneration." |
