The Fifth Doctor [1982-1984], played by Peter Davison (1)
The fifth incarnation of the Doctor. The externally youngest of the Doctors, this incarnation projected youthful exuberance, an enthusiasm for cricket, and a friendly cheery exterior. However, he could often become frustrated as others didn't take his appearance seriously, since his was the wisdom and knowledge of a being over 700 years old. The Fifth Doctor often became personally invested in his adventures and sometimes failed due to circumstances beyond his control, especially when seeking a peaceful resolution to a situation. He could also be perhaps too trusting, putting his life into the hands of his companion Turlough several times without knowing his true allegiances. Given the life he led, the Fifth Doctor could also appear hypocritical, trying to find a peaceful solution but resorting to guns if the situation overwhelmed him. His companions in order were Adric, Tegan Jovanka, Nyssa, Vislor Turlough, Kamelion, and Peripigillium (Peri) Brown. |
