Episode Quotes

The Doctor: Hello! I hope that knife’s been properly sterilized.
De Vries: Blasphemer!
The Doctor: No no no no. You can catch all kinds of things off of dirty knife. Lockjaw, tetanus, not to mention staphylococci.
Martha: I’m not going to be a party to this!
The Doctor: Good for you!

The Doctor: Does your Callileach ride a bicycle?
De Vries: Bicycle?!?
The Doctor: Yes.
De Vries: You’ll die with blasphemy on your lips!
The Doctor: It’s just that I can see a bicycle unless I’m very much mistaken. Over here!

Amelia: You have a dog?
The Doctor: Have I got a dog!

The Doctor: I've got a job for you. Now you've always wanted to be a bloodhound, so...
K-9: Negative, master.
The Doctor: Yes you have. Yes you have.
K-9: Negat...
The Doctor: Hush. Now here's your chance. Find Romana, hmm?
K-9: Program achievable, master. The mistress's scent, blood, tissue type and alpha wave pattern are all recorded in my data banks.
The Doctor: Don't just talk about it, K-9, do it!

Romana: Somebody's got [the third segment]. And they've found a way of using its powers.
The Doctor: Right.
Romana: Well, so what do we do?
The Doctor: Get you a decent pair of shoes.

Amelia: What’s that?
The Doctor: This is my dog. He’s called K-9.
Amelia: But he’s mechanical.
K-9: Affirmative
Amelia: But isn’t that rather…
The Doctor: Oh no no no no, they’re all the rage in Trenton, NJ
Amelia: Oh, really? Do you have to have a license for him.
K-9: Negative.
The Doctor: No.

Romana: Where are you going, Doctor?
The Doctor: I’m going to see Mr. De Vries.
Romana: What, after what he did to you?
The Doctor: Because of what he did to me. I think that Mr. De Vries is a very worried man, and worried men often sing worried songs.

Romana: What's that?
Vivien Fay: A policeman's truncheon. Last year, when (Amelia) went to lecture in New York, she took it with her in case she got mugged.
Romana: And did she get mugged?
Vivien Fay: No, she got arrested for carrying an offensive weapon.
