Episode Quotes

The Doctor: Ace, hand me some of that Nitro-9 you're not carrying.

The Doctor: Oi! Dalek! It's me, the Doctor. What's the matter, don't you recognise your mortal enemy?

The Doctor: You can always judge a man by the quality of his enemies.

The Doctor: Your species has the most amazing capacity for self-deception, matched only by it's ingenuity when trying to destroy itself.

The Doctor: I think I might have miscalculated.

The Doctor: Typical human, you can always count on them to mess things up.

The Doctor: Weapons. Always useless in the end.

The Doctor: Dalek! You have been defeated. Surrender! You have failed. Your forces are destroyed, your home planet a burnt cinder circling a dead sun. Even Davros, your creator, is dead! You have no superiors, no inferiors, no reinforcements, no hope, no rescue! You're trapped, a trillion miles and a thousand years from a disintegrated home. I have defeated you. You no longer serve any purpose.

The Doctor: Ashes to ashes... Dust to dust.

The Doctor: Time will tell... It always does.

Dalek: You are the Doctor! You are the enemy of the Daleks! You will be exterminated! Exterminate! Exterminate! Exterminate!

Episode Goofs

Although it is strongly implied that this story takes place on November 23, 1963, there is no reference of any kind to the assassination of U.S. President John F. Kennedy, which occurred in Dallas, Texas on the previous day. This would have understandably been the dominant topic of conversation in London and in the rest of Britain.

When speaking to Allison in the junkyard after the Doctor and Ace's departure, Rachel refers to the Daleks by name. However, the Doctor never mentioned it.
