I thought the pilot was disappointing. It wasn't bad, just mediocre. I expect more from JW. I thought the second episode better. I enjoyed it, but the hunky psycho had more to do with it than anything else. I'm not used to Eliza playing anything other than strong, intelligent women. Her "Faith" is a tough act to follow, but she pulled it off on TRU, and the 3 movies I've seen her in. The spacey, dumbed-down, bimboesque characterization of Echo between "engagements" isn't working for me. Not crazy about the sleazy escort part of her job, either. (I surprise myself all the time Unfortunately, the supporting cast isn't very helpful. Her "madame" isn't very likeable; doesn't even have much style (where's Stephanie Romanov when we need her??). Her mentor(?) in the 2nd episode was poorly written/acted. Hey, dude, quit bit-ching and get another job if you're so unhappy <oy vey> The character who programes her has potential, I hope... Amy Acker's wasted so far, though putting all of those fugly scars on THAT face is genius, in a way. Who's her plastic surgeon, Dr. Franknfutter?
Something subtle and strange: did anyone notice how the office/loft/warehouse is extremely brightly lit, or should I buy a new TV? Just the opposite of ANGEL. I found that very irritating. Joss, we can't adjust the color/brightness on these modern TVs.

The show has gotten mixed reviews so it seems to be a show that you'll either like it or don't like it. I liked it. I thought the pilot was fine not as terrible as some other say but it's all matter of opinion.I like it that Echo can play different characters every week. It's far from predictable. The FBI agent is a pretty funny character full of the usual male bravado you see. Buffy and Angel were also cheesy at times but they got better. For me it's a nice treat just to see Eliza and she is a good actress so I'll keep watching it

I finally caught up on all the episodes last night, and they're decent. None of them were as fantastic as I had expected, but they were in no means bad.
The second episode was far better than this one, though. The storyline had a little more excitement to it than the pilot and the scenes with Alpha were kinda creepy. Hopefully tonight's episode will be even better.
