They were much better off than anybody that's been living below the poverty line all this time, and now that the Bruces are joining millions in the soup kitchens, they're suddenly plucky, hard-working Americans that symbolize how we all should pull ourselves up by our bootstraps and tough out this financial crisis? Is that what the network is selling us now? These people are not heroes, they are the roadkill of the upper middle class, not planning for the future. Maybe they would be doing better with birth control, planning their family; if they could afford two houses they sure as heck could have afforded some condoms. The stepmom is a witchRating: 0 likes, 1 dislikes I've watched this show about 4 times. i don't like the step mom at all. especially when cody came to visit. she was all over him for not going to church. but when he turned it on her for not wanting to go the gun range. she whined. get over yourself lady. then she tells her husband hes a problem. when he gets mad she starts to cry. how fake. the husband needs to wake up and get rid of her. her kids are all that and his are second class citizens. shes a not a nice person, shes all about herself. you just want to smack her. todd could do much better. Grow up and start acting like responsible people, you have grown kids who are perfectly cabable of getting jobs as well. You got yourselves in the mess you're in so get yourselves out the same way. I'm sure there are plenty of people out there that are just as sick of you wanting people to feel sorry for you as I am.
