Season 1 (Saiyan Saga)

This is the first season of Dragonball Z. Raditz, Goku's Saiyan brother, arrives and tells Goku that he is in fact an alien sent to the earth to destroy it and that he has not fulfilled his mission. Goku being the hero that he is teams up with Piccolo, Goku's rival at the time, to take down this threat. Together Goku and Piccolo take down Raditz, but Goku dies in the process. His friends and family want to wish him back to life immediately using the dragonballs, but because the other Saiyans know about the dragonballs Goku decides to stay in other world and train with King Kai, a master of martial arts in other world, until the saiyans arrive so that he is strong enough to beat them. Meanwhile Piccolo trains Goku's son Gohan. The two Saiyans Vegeta and Nappa arrive and completely over power the Z fighters, Goku's friends and family that have taken the duty to defend the Earth from aliens and anything else that threatens it. When Goku gets to the scene he find Piccolo dead and no one else is looking to good either. The weaker of the to Saiyans Nappa is no match for Goku and Vegeta kills him because of this weakness. Goku and Vegeta fight and after a long and epic battle Goku wins, but he lets Vegeta go because he sees good in all people.
