John Trimble, played by Dylan Baker
A scientist in his normal life, John is taking part in The Race with his daughter Violet, as a bonding experience. But that's not the whole truth - what Violet doesn't know is that John is dying, and has only been given one year to live (at the most).
A seemingly nebbish and introverted person, John initially hides the fact that they're in a Race at all from his daughter, but her suspicions soon force him to tell her what they're doing. Violet is incredulous that her father, of all people, would take part in something like this, but when she finds out the prize for the winners, she is on board with The Race. |
